Most 100s need a bit of luck, hes batted really nicely against a great attack. Well played by blundell.

Hopefully our quicks realise that the bloke can’t play an offside shot to save himself and stay off his pads in Sydney

Without getting too carried away the one thing i like about Langers' coaching over the Lehmann reign is Langer seems to have an installed a really clear identity for the team especially when batting first.

It's obvious the plan is to bat patiently, make the bowlers come back for 4,5,6 spells. Even if it means going at 2.5-3 runs an over they know they will finish the day around 230-250 and cash in the next day on tired bowlers. They have the confidence in the bowlers to get the job done...it's not sexy but its effective.

The bowling attack is definitely considered a 'team' within the team and the attack is made up of the best personal to compliment one another not necessarily the 'best' four bowlers. The attack always has the strike bowler, the line and length bowler, the hit the deck hard bowler and the spinner. Pretty sound tactic for any pitch conditions.

If Head becomes a regular we should have a sound 3,4,5 with Laba, Smith, Head. We have depth in pace bowlers.

It's probably the best positon we have been in for many years.

Get into them as much as you can! Their group of supporters looked like plenty to say and cheer about at the MCG despite their team getting belted.

A comprehensive 247 run win, Head man of the match, second test match century and reached 1000 test match runs.
Hopefully we can keep the foot on the throat of NZ and make it 3-0 in Sydney. Apart from Wagner, Blundell today and to a lesser extent Southee they have been embarrassing and disappointing, I expected alot more from them, especially their batting group.
I'm really interested to hear what Williamson has to say in regards to why he chose to bowl first.
Great to see Pattinson come back in and have immediate impact, set the win up before lunch today.
With his 4 wickets today Nathan Lyon (380 wickets) moves above Malcom Marshall to 18th in the most test wickets list and is now 3 behind Ian Botham.

Spot on, excellent post, agree with all of this.

You would think the only two positions not locked in are the 2nd opener (Burns best of ordinary bunch currently) and Number 6 batter (Wade currently , assuming Head will be No. 5, and he is just treading water but we have some good options to try here.

When you have Hazelwood as the 4th bowler who misses out, that is extremely good position to be in.
