Went to see Liam Gallagher tonight...

Beautiful night, great location, lead singer of my favourite band what could possibly go wrong?

Him walking off after an hour, no encore, nothing ... lights go on roadies pack up stage...

Thousands of people just standing there going WTF...

What was played was brilliant, but he got the sh1ts up for some reason and that was it...

P1ssed off I am...

Went to Sounds by the River on Saturday.

Boom Crash Opera - Aussie 80's pop rock, good set, knew most of the songs, good way to start the day.

Killing Heidi - Ella Hooper rocked a skin tight leopard print jumpsuit. I mean rocked it. Good set, she can sing.

Baby Animals - Getting a little more up beat now as we get a little more pub rock, good set, know how to work a crowd.

The Angels - The Brewster brothers know how to play, they know how to play rock n roll. Dave Gleeson does his best, he's a good front man.

The Living End - The reason I/we went, as always put on a cracking show, wound the crowd up nicely.

Then.....

James Reyne - :-Q Put the kettle on love, I'll have a cuppa before bed.

(about an hour of nothing)

Hunters and Collectors - More nothing, not impressed one bit, went and got a yiros and baked spud. Listened to the last bit of the set from the balcony of the pub we were in eating my spud with a can of bourbon. Didn't miss much.

Beers, Carlton Dry, Carlton Draught, Great Nothern, $8.

CC and Dry, Beam and Coke, Vodka and Lime - $11

Yiros / Baked spud - $13
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

Not good news for the live music scene HQ has shut down.

However, the venue runners have not announced the exact date of the closure, and there are currently still gigs scheduled for Eskimo Joe, Pennywise, Boy & Bear and more all the way up til May.

Geez, it only seemed like yesterday it moved down to Hindley Street.

Bring back Cartoons.

I never went to the new HQ just a couple of times back when it was called Heaven at the old location. From memory I saw Grinspoon there in '98 and the Ipecac Geek Show Tour with Tomahawk, Melvins & Fantomas in 2003. Just remembered I saw You Am I there too must've been early 2000's I reckon.

Unfortunately I never saw a gig at Cartoons came really close when Cannibal Corpse played there but we changed plans.
