It's all part of Geelong's superannuation scheme for their ex players who own most of the pubs in town. ;)

I might have to become a Port supporter or spend more time with North Adelaide.
Pubs and gambling suits me a lot better than a gym does!

Of course it's slow moving, you can't just kill off a portion of your revenue stream overnight.

Its not an overnight thing, North did it back in 2008.

Not what I'm saying. You said it's a slow moving ship, it will be, for some clubs it's a large portion of their revenue stream and it will take time to move into other streams. Port have reduced machine numbers at the Port Club and Price of Wales over the last two years.

North, Adelaide, Fremantle, Gold Coast, West Coast, Sydney and GWS gain no revenue from gaming machines. ( They may get revenue from other gambling sources ).

Genuine question, do the Crows no longer have the revenue from the Checkside Tavern?

Don't think they ever did. I think it has always been the SANFL's.

Agreed, I don't think it was ever owned by Adelaide.

I thought back in the early 2000's they had a stake in it, but yep makes more sense to be SANFL owned

That's the benchmark for top end talent in their mid 20's then.

What’s De Goey worth then?
Can they afford both on long term contracts.

Grundy is worth every $ IMO

Agree with Grundy, solid citizen and a good decision ( at this point ) by the Pies, De Goey on the other hand looks like he might be a little more volatile. Would you sign someone with his chequered history to a 7 year deal? I doubt it.

North had a fair crack at De Goey when he was last coming out of contract. a mate at work who is a Nth supporter said he was no good. You would expect they will have another crack at him or Gaff as Gaff can walk from the Eagles as a unrestricted free agent due to a clause in his contract

How do you fit De Goey and Pittard into one salary cap, that's the question.

Two-time premiership Kangaroo David King has revealed his top eight predictions for 2020.

King forecasts West Coast claiming the minor premiership, with GWS, Richmond and Collingwood rounding out his top four.

Arguably the most surprising selection in King’s top eight is Port Adelaide, who he predicts will finish seventh.

Port replace Essendon as his only change from last year’s finalists.

King praised the youth on Ken Hinley’s side, particularly Connor Rozee, and is a big fan of their senior core.

Rozee is coming off a strong debut campaign where he led all rookies in goals (29) and was runner-up for the Rising Star award to Carlton’s Sam Walsh.

“I reckon there will be a surprise. I like their kids,” he told SEN Breakfast.

“I really think their kids did a lot of heavy lifting last year.

“I just think that their senior core players will get better again this year and Travis Boak had a fantastic year last year.

“There were reasons why, in my opinion, they didn’t have the year they wanted last year, but I’m a fan of what they’ve done.

“They were 0-2 in games decided by under 10 points, that corrects, you get a bit of luck.

“I’m a massive fan of Connor Rozee. I like what they’ve done.”

David King’s top 8 for 2020
West Coast
GWS
Richmond
Collingwood
Bulldogs
Brisbane
Port Adelaide

I know he was spruiking us all year despite most of us knowing how crap we were. Reckon it was around ANZAC Day when he declared us a legitimate flag chance and a few weeks later he doubled down on that and said we were his favourites to win it
