The Salisbury West Sports Club would cease to exist.

At a guess soccer clubs would swoop on the premises and the SWCC would have to try and co-exist with whoever took over, that's if the council would allow them to, they may to change their name, the new leasee may want the premises 12 months a year.

It would be a similar set up as say ATCO CC & Elizabeth Grove Soccer Club or Craigmore CC and Elizabeth FC.

Love them or hate them, the PDCA needs the SWCC alive and well to continue to be the benchmark of the comp, 5 senior sides, 2 womens sides and a few junior teams, they have been the most successful club for the past two decades.

Yeah absolutely agree about Salisbury West being the benchmark. Have been my entire senior cricket life. Sadly the club is full of people from Salisbury West. ;)

How does the association set itself up next season?

6x team Grade 1 this year - do they maintain that still, or do they keep the current crop and bump up with North Pines + one other and return to 8?

Grade 2: Enfield and Riverside are well off the pace and should go down to 3 - is it a chance to not promote anyone from G3 and suddenly have 6x teams in G1 and G2?

Progressively change, and aim to have 2021 has 5 grades of 6 teams?

I could do the Grade 1 update if Eastern Park entered their shit from round 7.

Updated.. 4x games left, potentially 3 if we get the rain that's forecast Saturday, you'd have to think one more good game and Hibbett is home.

Finally we have reached the last minor round match in the two day grades.. couldn't have come sooner.

Grade 2 has some interesting matches this weekend. North Pines will win outright over Enfield and head into finals with the minor premiership despite a slight hiccup at the weekend against One Tree Hill.

The Goats win has kept Dublin at bay in the fight for 2nd place, and would think they'll beat Eyre Royals this weekend to keep the top 2 spot.

Dublin have Craigmore who seem a bit hit or miss, critical game, if Craigmore can win they'll play finals, if they lose then they rely on OTH taking care of Eyre Royals. If Craigmore lose and Eyre Royals win, Dublin will also take 2nd spot.

ATCO vs Riverside might be an interesting match, two sides with their season cooked, but Riverside playing for some pride and coming off a win will be buoyed with confidence - an upset is not out of the question here.

How does a team get bowled out for 28 in the first dig and win outright?

It sounds like the Smithfield D Grade team that achieved a similar feat many moons ago.

It was called "losing the unloseable game".

Marty Reading was an A grade opening bat, never bowled and could only play one week.

Opened the bowling and took 9/12 as they dismissed the opposition out for 28 IIRC.

Marty goes out and scores 100+ not out so the declare at about 6/160 and then have the opposition 3/30 overnight.

They go on to make about 180 and bowl Smithfield out for about 30 and win reverse outright.

LO1's looks like a Vista v Units GF with Vista clear cut favs to take the chocolates. Pines the only other team that could make it. 4th spot Grand Masters. Frustrating year for Two Wells, their best was competitive and could have done some damage in finals but inconsistency cost it a finals berth. Hoddo to get over the 1000 run mark in the GF.

Speaking of the 1000 run mark, I see Michael Hallet crossed it on the weekend with another 40 in LO4.

Now has 1,011 runs @ 101.1 with 4x 100's and 4x 50's

I read your post and just went on Mycricket to look at the Craigmore v Pirates result. This has made my day, thank you and well done to the Craigmore B grade.

The Pirates played a player in that game who is still registered at North Haven in that game, he also played in their B grade in round 16. He has played one match for NH this season and there was never a clearance put in for him to go to the Pirates. Our secretary has attempted to contact the PDCA via email and phone multiple times about this matter but has had no correspondence from the PDCA.
