There wont be much recruiting from now on so my early predictions :

Norwood should be favorites with their Ins
North will jump up and I think a big jump
Glenelg may slightly drop
Sturt will be about the same and could surprise
South a slight improvement
Central wont make the 5
Eagles will push for a finals berth
West will finish bottom.

Port Power and The Crows im not sure but suspect The Crows to not do much.

Think you’re about right though I suspect Central to also be in with a shot at 5th spot if
new coach and squad are on the same page from round one.
West definitely bottom with Camry Crows not far in front.
Really expect Norwood,Glenelg and North to be top three, with the rest all fighting all the way
for the 4th and 5th spots.
And wouldn’t it be nice if the Sanfl got the radio coverage sorted like years ago with multiple games on
rph and life etc.

West won’t be great but more competitive than you think

Wouldn’t right off the Crows, had any other SANFL side recruited Keays, Frampton and Crocker they would be more hyped
July 11th 2012....

I haven’t been to Eagles training so I can’t say much .
Except what I’ve read posted by people who attend and know a heck of a lot more than me .
Sheedy is stamping what he wants into the eagles .
Eagles may finish fourth end of the home and away season .
It’s not the Eagles under Godden or Fuller
It’s going to be a faster quicker more skill full Eagles
Time will tell

Not sure if North will be top 3.They should certainly improve despite losing Tropiano and Max Thring. Thring hardly played last year and was hobbled for the last part of the previous year. The problem I have is the lack of a quality ruckman. In 2018, the late introduction of Jordan Sweet was the last piece of the jigsaw puzzle that enabled North to win the flag. It was a double edged advantage. Sweet was competitive with the top ruckmen such as Baulderstone and Brooksby, but additionally it enabled Barns and Harvey to become very dangerous players in attack. I believe North are pinning their hopes on Blair who would have to improve markedly on what I saw last year.
With Brooksby back, I actually think South will be around the place despite losing the class of Liddle. Norwood and Glenelg, obviously should also be very competitive.

I stand to be corrected, but as it is a prediction.

Norwood. Douglass and Bastinac would make any side better at this level but they have lost a lot of quality to the draft and retirements. Brady Dawe (retired/Lobethal), Jace Bode (retired/Payneham Norwood Union), Alex Georgiou (retired/Lobethal), Ed Smart (retired/Onkaparinga Valley), Dylan Stephens (Sydney Swans), Cam Taheny (Geelong) is a lot of experience and talent out the door. Three basketball recruits (Ellison has played league football) says to me Norwood are a little short in the big man department. Irra should be a regular league footballer and I hope he goes well. Always have a junior or 2 step up.

Centrals. Not lost much and have regained Boyd and Menzel. New coach and perhaps a new plan may see the dogs rejuvinated. Ruck stocks look thin but it gives someone a shot to make the position theirs like Sweet did at North in 2018.

Glenelg. Losing 6 premiership players Jesse White (retired), Chris Curran (work/Renmark Rovers), Will Gould (Sydney Swans), Josh Scott (Work), Aaron Joseph (retired), Brad Close (Geelong) and 5 depth players will be hard to cover. Regain Stretch and Allen from the VFL which will help. Spargo, Pat Pirate, Pseudo, Dutchy, AMBays and Stampy all had a taste of league footy last year and we wait to see if their hangover will be a hinderence.

North. Lost Thring and Tropiano but gain Billy Hartung (St Kilda City/North Melbourne) Andrew Moore (Box Hill Hawks), Robbie Young (returned/St Kilda), Harrison Wigg (returned/Gold Coast), Kym Lebois (returned/Carlton) and the pluses outweigh the losses significantly. Certain to be more competitive.

Sturt. Lost Jack Stephens (retired/Sydney), Fraser Evans (retired/Kapunda), Aidan Riley (retired/Lobethal), John Greenslade (retired/Onkaparinga Valley), Danyle Pearce (retired) and gain Patrick Dangerfield (or Dean Gore, the two are very similar) and Abe Davis from South. Have some good juniors who will be looking to get regular league football. Evans and Stephens out is as big a loss there is for any of the clubs and I think that will hurt Sturt. Still have plenty of premiership players and are always hard to beat at home,

West. Any side losing the quality of Schmidt and Beech would find that tough and with limited recruiting will need their juniors to step up. A tough season looms but pressure builds diamonds.

WWT. Lost plenty. Scott Lewis (retired), James Boyd (Central District), Seb Guilhaus (retired), Kysaiah Pickett (Melbourne), Harry Schoenberg (Adelaide), Jackson Mead (Port Adelaide), Josh Morris (Hawthorn), Michael Frederick (Fremantle), Trent Burgoyne (Port Adelaide), Jack Gaffney (Port Districts), Cooper Gaffney (Port Districts), Joe Heinjus (Brinkworth Spalding Redhill), Isaac Moller (Brinkworth Spalding Redhill), Xavier Redden (Strathalbyn).
Gained bugger all. That said, a junior program second to none and a new coach says the Eagles think they can do it from within. The coach gets his chance to build a side which is reportedly fitter than ever with a heavy emphasis on skills, Not saying they aren't but every side in every league claims that every year,

South. Lost five regulars Brad Crabb (retired), Nick Liddle (retired), Abe Davis (Sturt), Emmanuel Irra (Norwood), Mark Noble (Werribee) but appear to have recruited to cover those losses with Matthew Broadbent (Port Adelaide), Keegan Brooksby (returned/West Coast), James Rose (Sydney Swans/Sturt), Tom Highmore (Canberra). Expect to see former juniors playing and pushing hard for regular league football, such as Beau McCreery. Nic Schwarz who missed almost all of last year due to injuries will also be a very welcome inclusion. Some much needed premiership coaching experience in Ben Dugga Warren will I think be very beneficial to the players.

So in what looms as a very even year:

Norwood
Sturt
North
WWT
Glenelg
Centrals
West

As I have posted on another site, I think you will find that Blair has gone home. I think we are still pinning our hopes on J Craig to be fit for a season, or it looks like we will be robbing Peter to pay Paul again with the likes of Harvey and Barns.

We have plenty of depth. Just not enough Top End/Elite players at SANFL level.
Grand Final aspirants would have 8 to 10 players at this level; the rest of the side is made up of players who would be role players.
We had four last year (Schiller, Schiller, Menzel and Hoskin) and whilst we gained Menzel Mk2 we could well be without Trav Schiller for a big chunk of the season.
For Dogs to be a threat, players like Presbury, Dew, Fort and McLean need to step up the next level; maybe under a new coach they are able to do it?
