Cheers.
Makes a difference when you ride him smartly, wasn’t ideal but didn’t burn him out trying to get the lead.

Hopefully they learn from it, my brother and I have said the same thing every race this prep.

I was sceptical about the travel until I heard he went over with Dalasan and I’ve lost a bit of confidence in the strategies, never the horse though.

Nice, hopefully you got a cheap slab out of it.

I’m looking forward to his next run now and see what the stable takes out of the run.

Sat wide but was real strong to the line, that’s what I liked.

Hasn't really run a bad race yet, anyone who has watched it has seen mitigating circumstances ie the ride mainly.

Trying to read between the lines is frustrating, we get weekly emails plus more leading up to and just after he races.

My perception is that the trainer instructs the jockey to work to the lead, it's not how it's put across to us though.

We've always thought he'd be best suited to get some cover early to mid race as he has a decent tank to come home with, having a jockey that just went by feel and instinct was the difference, he sat a bit wider than he would've liked and acknowledged that in his post race interview but that has only given us a bit more confidence in him as we know he didn't run a perfect race, he was a little bit agitated about 200 metres into the race too as he was trying to find out where to sit.

I was beginning to think that we'd never see his full potential, he's still only a 4 year old and raced correctly to suit his style he'll win many more races, I just hope they learn from this race.

His only poor results have been from poor decisions, 15 starts and only twice not finished in the prize money, he should've been scratched for one of those as he started in the carpark in an untried 1600m race on a soft 6.

He's won a tad under $100K in that time.

Race 6 - Tyreright Pakenham BM70 Handicap

3 - Left Hand Man

5 - Rainbow Thief

2 - Spirit or Lager

1 - Talenti

Race Overview: Left Hand Man is the map horse. He can lead if nothing wants to take it up or sit just off the speed if something rolls forward - either way, he will be in clean air at the top of the straight while his main danger Rainbow Thief looks awkwardly drawn in gate one. Left Hand Man's win at this track and distance rated well, reeling off the best last 400-metre split of the meeting to win comfortably.
