Daily Golf - Where you are playing and how you go

Yesterday was a battle.
In more ways than one, battling a few sore spots from a tumble at sis in laws on fri night, tripped into a ditch dug out for a fence....and i was sober ffs...and ended up on their neoghbours driveway

So golf was a 50-50.
But we ploughed on in the muggy conditions
Front 9 had 16pts, happy enough.
Back 9, wasnt too bad a start, but a few costly errors put pay to the game...and I'm not one for looking for wayward balls...
On the 7th hit a reasonable drive, slightly left and ended up resting against a tree root....bugger that idea...pick up

Ended up with a measly 8points on the back. Fatigue had well n truly set in for the group as we were playing 14th

Went out yesterday.
Vines
Black Tees.
Front 9 was scratchy. 2 highlights. On the 3rd, pulled a fat 7i left, behind a tree...
4th, low drive down the left. Thought it would be ok. Stopped adjacent to a tree so no option but too punch backwards
...
Back 9 started better, but then, on 12th hit a nice drive down on the tree line, making sure I kept it away from the road on the left..get down there...no ball. Anyway some old guy comes back with my ball, claims he is playing a Srixon also, but is blind to not see my markings all over my ball.... so he drops it and says here it was..... pissed off, had a 6
Birdie on 14 was handy.
Hit one of the best Drives on 15, right out of the sweet spot. And it smashed into the tree i was aiming at....prefer to put it up in the trees than miss it left. But that was flying.....
Ended up with 87....
47 front
40 back

Played at Flaggy yesterday.
Preferred lies on the fairways.

The fairways are much better than they were in july/August. Still a bit of work to do, but definitely moving in right direction.
Greens much slower than used too, and I never did adjust to that.
Ended up with 34pts.
A round that was just a battle all day really, so happy with that result.

My son played at Flaggy yesterday, shot 160

Him and his mate got on for $10.

I went and had a hit at Willunga, twilight after 3pm $20, haven't played there for years. Shot a 93, which is my best round for over 2 years so pretty happy with that, mind you had a 8 & 7 on last 2 holes so could have been better.

Course in good knick, greens dont look real flash but I found they rolled very true, albeit slow. Good fun round, got around in 3 & 1/2 hours.

35pts at Vines yesterday
Course in good nick for todays Vardon. Greens had quickened up after giving them a trim. Fairways still lush underfoot. Certainly rewarded for letting them grow out a bit. Easier to mow then grow.
Hit the ball reasonably well for a 35pt day...few putts just missed the edge...but I'll happily take it, I do think I missed a birdie putt after being sledges from a voice in the heavens!

Lady Bay today just mainly a catch up.
Started off quite nicely. Greens were on the slow side, which took some adjusting....then we hit the 7,8,9 i think and the greens had quickened up on thay side.
Fatique probably set in late.
But a 32pt day, so not unhappy. Geeez it was warm out there!!!

Very, fairways virtually non-existent, so apart from tee shots, almost every shot is from sand. Patchy greens.

Played The Dunes Saturday, was 3 beers deep on the 1st and proceeded to go par, par, par, bogey, par. Found it tougher from there as a few more beers hit the blood stream. 43 on front 9. Got the 17th and a quick add and worked out if I bogeyed the last 2 holes I would beat 90 for the 1st time in 4 years. I duely bogeyed the harder 17th against the wind and had the short 18th with the wind, nailed the drive to be 100m out and everything looking sweet, then proceeded to blade my wedge 30m over the green into an unplayable shrub, duffed the next, onto the green and 3 putted for an 8 :(

Great day out and course still in awesome condition. Pub beers went down a treat afterwards.

Saturday Vines
just a walk really.
Nothing much can be said about it.
Was quite windy for the walk as well.
Off the tee wasnt as ideal as I'd hoped, got into messy situations (should be an expert by now getting out)
Putting.....**** me.....some very ordinary efforts.....
28pts....

Actually I think I had a hit in August 2019 come to think of it with a few cricket lads, it was awful & I adjourned to the bar after 9 holes!

I preferred my March form!

Monthly Medal off the Blacks.

Mother Nature had a dodgy curry, bloody windy AF out there this morning.

1st got away with a bogey 6.
First time we managed to get a earlyish 1st tee slot, so take that and move on.
2nd....the gust is heading to the dam on the left. Play hybrid off the tee....hit a tree on the right....it bounced back to end of the path[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] anyway we recover for another bogey 5.
3rd - poor tee shot, recovery was sublime....par.
4th.....oh dear...i pulled the drive a tad and breeze then blew it towards trees and range on the right....walked out with a 7..[emoji849]
From there the game really picked up.
6 pars and 8 bogeys....but did give myself some good opportunities, but just let down with the putter....

So we ended up with 84 off stick...best round for a while.....dont wanna peak to early in the quest for Seniors tour...[emoji16]
