Cheers mate. Yeah, he's my Uncle. Bill is a retiree who starts planning for his next match even before the scaling has been applied for the last. He's real old school. He's got all of these note books and records all the stats, he's right into it. A few years ago he was a bunny in Divvy V and now he's in Divvy I and is a real handful. He won two flags last year, Divvy II which is pretty tough and the Piglet which has coaches from every Hogg league in it.

I reckon he makes the eight in this company but it's the best league he has been in so far.

How the F is there so many shit teams in this league? I reckon 50000 points is a fair cut off for a decent ranked team and half this league is below that. time to up the relegation numbers? ;)
some of you ( at least 2) should not even bother this year ;)
Its worse than the Australian cricket team, harder to get in than it is to get out

In sharp contrast to last year, teams are signing up pretty well for this league. Only team missing is @sharksta The Underdogs. If Underdogs don't join the league by Friday March 5 their spot will be offered to Magpie Mafia. Straycat Strut has left the league.

The Underdogs are taking a sabbatical this season and have been replaced by the highest scoring candidate Magpie Mafia. Ross won the Divvy III title last season racking up an impressive 51734 points last season. The Mafia leapfrogged Division II as the number one seed in that league to be elevated to Division I. Magpie Mafia is the number three seed in the league this season.

Premier League side Buddy Franklin didn't make the deadline so the former number one seed Roosters has been promoted to Premier League. Taking the chooks' place is DAISYS DUDS, yep, that guy that reckons that most of you are shit. So make sure you all give him a nice warm James Sicily welcome ha ha. @daysofourlives has been a consistent scorer for years in Divvy II without managing to seal the deal in August so he is no pushover. The DUDS haven't joined the league as yet but my Straycat Strut team won't miss being beaten up by the DUDS this year. Duds they aint.

HOGG DIVISION I 2020

1 eddieslittleindians MAY-Z 52006
2 Magpie Mafia Ross 51744
3 Pool Swimmers 51691
4 Adelaide Crows Raymond 51691
5 DAISYS DUDS daysofourlives 51393
6 Porter Guns MatteeG 50675
7 Summer of George Shake'n'Bake 50513
8 Cowpokes Alaska Jnr 50072
9 Professor Crow SCD 50030
10 WATTS & MOTS bd u15 09 49972
11 Jays Jocks Jason 49948
12 Dogs Breakfast nuggety goodness 49948
13 wycbloods wycbloods 49823
14 Jims TigerRoos Jim R 48714
15 Coro Chameleons Alaska 48586
16 Honey Badgers Banker 48412
17 cobras Dale G 47572
18 Hawkers Arch44 42758

The weekly par score for this league is 2163 which is a little low for this league. In 2019 we lost a heap of Divvy I coaches and the standard at this level hasn't quite recovered from it yet. I reckon this league will do better especially if @Arch44 and @Bankercan lift their game. Banker had his worst season ever last year but at his best he wins this league. The season par for the league on last year's scoring is only 49753. You'll need to score 50k comfortably to make your mark this season I think.

If you haven't already please join our Hogg Shield group (any chance of changing the name to just Hogg Shield daysie?) , the code for our group is 137550. Being in the group could provide you with a Roosters like entry into the Premier League next year as I'll be using that for the promotional ranking in 2021.

16 Cobras 4 8 16
17 Dogs Breakfast 2 10 8

Fixture

Kiss of death in bold.

Dogs v Swimmers
George v Chameleons
Cowpokes v indians
GUNS v Hawkers

Update

Lo and behold we have some Division I numbers to add what must be the shortest thread in Hogg history. It's quite surprising to see some pretty good sides dragging the chain a bit this season. Honey Badgers have been a brilliant team in the Hogg but this season has been a disaster. The sorry season that has been 2020 will come to a close with a hiding against the provider of these numbers, DAISY. Meanwhile, another gun side from last MAGPIE MAFIA also has not been a hit. Roscoe's scores from last year suggested he'd be right at home in this company but he has maintained the code of silence this year as he hasn't had a big say in Divvy I this season.

Jays Jocks have been the stand out side this season but of all the contenders for the Division I crown they have the toughest fixture to complete the season. Pool Swimmers will give a good account of themselves but I expect the Jocks to have things covered. The Cowpokes have been riding high this season and they finish their year with their traditional clash against the Indians. Fair to say the Cowboys have had their measure for a few years. Because of the lopsided nature of this comp and the fixture list for the last round, I reckon the top four can retain their double chance positions. Just like in Division II double chance teams need to win two finals to qualify for Premier League so the gap between fourth and fifth is massive up here.

There are a group of teams on 6-6 and only one of them makes finals. Porter Guns are the side currently holding that spot and their match against the Hawkers is crucial to both sides. Hawkers are in the unhappy position of winning this game and still missing out but if Porter wins they should retain their top eight spot. Seeing as I'm going blind in my old age I couldn't read DAISY'S numbers so Pool Swimmers could make the eight as all the other 6-6 teams have much harder matches.

The relegation battle has been tossed and lost with Dogs Breakfast and Honey Badgers relegated to Division II next season.

Anyone got any numbers for me? Could do with a ladder if someone could post it. Make it nice and large because Mum was right, it does make you go blind. Who made the finals?

Finals Week One

1st Qualifying Final
Summer of George 2172
Jays Jocks 2135

2nd Qualifying Final
Watts & Motts 2164
DAISYSDUDS 2105

1st Elimination Final
Wycbloods 2100
PorterGUNS 1961

2nd Elimination Final
Cowpokes 2023
Professor Crow 2000

Another minor premier bit the dust in this league as the Summer of George were too hot for Jays jocks who lowered their colours. There have been more than a few duds in this league but the teams in the eight aren't included in this and as a result there have been a series of tightly contested matches to open the finals. It wasn't a complete wipe out by Jays Jocks who carded a pretty good 2135 but Georgie boy was too strong. One more win for George and they are in the Premier League. The other team in the same boat is Watts & Motts who enjoyed a 59 point win over the Chris Scott coached DAISYSDUDS. Again the DUDS not disgraced by DAISY must be frustrated by the lack of finals success he has endured despite being one of the most consistent scorers of the past five years. At least if you drop a Quallie you have another chance and it was bye bye to PorterGUNS who had the misfortune of having his season ended when Jelly's head smashed into Mumford's knee. You can't write that shit..oh hang on, I just did. Bye bye Uncle Bill, no soup for you. A couple of weeks ago Cowpokes were sitting pretty in second spot but a last round slip up saw them drop to seventh. So it perhaps fitting that the Cows escaped a first round exit, albeit very narrowly as the Professor came within 23 points of extending their season.

Semi Finals - tips in bold.

Jays Jocks v Wycbloods
DAISYSDUDS v Cowpokes

In a lot of the finals there is a smokey coming up from the bottom half of the eight to challenge but not so in this league. I reckon Wycbloods will give Jays Jocks are a real shake in that final but I reckon Jay will bounce back and end the bloods' year and they'll get a second crack at earning promotion to the big league. I can't believe I'm selecting DAISY to win a final but us Geelong supporters will always believe that if you knock on the door long enough, the bloody thing will open. Hopefully a DUDS victory signals a change of fortune! I reckon the Cows won't go as well as the bloods so feeling pretty confident about that tip. As a former Premier League side the bloods will be tough but it's Jays just for me.

Semi Finals

1st Semi Final
Wycbloods 2178
Jays Jocks 2110

2nd Semi Final
DAISYSDUDS 1970
Cowpokes 1590

Wycbloods is one step closer to returning to the Premier League after the bloods had a tight victory over the minor premier Jays Jocks. Jays has gone out in straight sets but at least they had a crack on their semi. DAISY was gifted a Semi Final win with a modest score in a bizarre Semi Final where the Cowpokes could only muster 1590 in response to DAISY's 1970. DAISY has had very little luck in finals in the past few years so he was probably due for some but he still has one more obstacle to overcome before the DUDS can join the Premier League.

Preliminary FInals - tips in bold.

1st Preliminary Final - Watts & Motts v Wycbloods
2nd Preliminary Final - Summer of George v DAISYSDUDS

I'm tipping one side who has waited like a spider in a web and another team who has been building for the last few weeks to win through to the Grand Final and be promoted to Premier League next season. I don't have access to this league so I'm not sure if the DUDS were playing possum last week knowing that their job was done or if they have a heap of Collingwood and Richmond ins that they can call on to upset Georgie boy. I can't say I'm convinced about DAISY's finals form so it's George for me. Wycbloods is a team that has participated in regular Premier League comps and I reckon he's got the form here to return to the top flight at the expense of Watts.

Preliminary Finals

1st Preliminary Final
Summer of George 2465
DAISYSDUDS 2174

2nd Preliminary Final
Wycbloods 2465
Watts & Motts 2176

Congratulations to @wycbloods and Summer of George who have qualified for the Premier League next season much to daisy's disgust. Both of these sides won through pretty easily in the end, scoring the exact same score. Could be a close Grand Final I reckon. Wycbloods is a former Premier League side who has been slaving away in Divvy I for the past few seasons. Summer of George has done it the hard way, working his way up through the ranks from Division IV so quite an effort. Georgie boy has done it the hard way so he's going to be a challenge next year for us...and this week for bloods. Bad luck to Watts and Daisy who have to start all over again. Them's the breaks folks.

Grand Final - Summer of George v Wycbloods. Preview in Grand Final thread.
