Remember the good ole days when the WSC always somehow ended up going to the 3rd final and then they'd wrap up all the awards for the summer after the final match and then we were left with that empty feeling of cricket being over for another 6 months, we might have got lucky and had an Ashes tour we could get winter fix on or a world cup somewhere that could be televised.

Those were the days, that was cricket for the spectator, it was interactive with the Kit Kat Strike Rate competition, the Sidchrome Supertest Team, classic catches, now it's all about TV rights and cramming as many games in as possible, our players travel around like the Ashtons Circus.

Like honestly, why the hell would we travel half way across the world for a couple of T20's or ODI's? surely that is taking the piss to the extreme, the money wasted on these pissant tours could be going to something better, give it back to the grassroot clubs, they rip the public off enough as it is.

Yeah i agree. Not being as big an AFL fan i always felt gutted that cricket season had ended when we inevitably lifted the WS Trophy.

Strangely enough the bit i miss the most from an Australian summer was between the Tri Series games change of innings they would have the hour break which included the news break.

When they went back to the live coverage they would be five overs into the innings and i always remember being nervous as waiting to see what the score was, hoping Mark Waugh and Gilchrist would still be opening or McDermott had picked up that vital first wicket.

Decent international cricket is so few and far between these days.

Yeah, or The Windies were going ballistic with Desi and Gordy teeing off and Viv still in the shed.

Yep the old 0/27 (5) when the Winidies were batting was a standard, back then that was flying!

C/A just announced the Chappell/Hadlee one day series starting today will continue however with no spectators being admitted.

Doubt they would have got too many there in any case

They've probably said that after seeing ticket sales.

It will be weird watching it, the players will have to jump the fence to retrieve the 6's.

Why bother playing them?

Exactly, there's no premiership table and you'd think they'd require ticket sales to help fund the player payments etc.

How much do you think the catering would be out of pocket?

I’m enjoying this more without the crowd.
How good is the sound of leather and willow. A couple of sixes have thudded off seats in the outer.

I was just about to post about the sound of the bat hitting the ball echoing around the SCG, how good indeed.
I love the uniforms of both teams and the yellow helmets too.

Aus 4/192 from 39 overs
Short the last man out, soft as f**k dismissal giving catching practice to Nicholls at deep midwicket/square leg.

Terrible batting apart from the openers and Marnus

we should have scored around 340-350 after that start, now be lucky to hit 250
