Did he play colts out at Cobby? Not ideal for Berri but good on Marty if he heads out to cobby, would be huge for the eagles as they go through a pretty huge rebuild.

New logo & gurney design as well I see!!

Played his first junior footy there and had family involved with the club for years. If he goes to Cobby it will involve some coaching aspect.

Nice way to repay the club after being gifted a premiership last season.

How does everyone feel about the reining premiers in renmark being able to add an SANFL captain to there already strong side?? We all know numerous teams had talks with him and he put 2k a game on his head which is not allowed . The latest rumor I've herd how they are paying curran is hes being paid to be the club doctor and if that's correct this really needs to be adressed as there are soo many loop holes to paying players under the table.

Might aswell give Renmark the flag now haha.

Still could be some outs for the Rovers but they are clearly the hot favourites by a fair distance pending outs. It is a pretty scary thought to know they have picked up Curran but everyone got a crack & everyone would of threw around the same $$. But from what I take of the situation is Curran wants flags with his 1 year down here which Renmark are the obvious club. Also the factor of picking a GP clinic, Renmark is the bigger/nicer town of the Riverland so that would of been a pretty easy decision aswell.

Anything could happen still with Waikerie sitting back in the shadows, they won't just let Renmark get a easy run. Also Barmera looming as a possible contender & Loxton have picked some great talent. Probably the strongest RFL season in a long time which is good signs for the comp.

What is going on at Berri? The outs list continues to grow...... Unless they have a few late ins, finals look rather unlikely.

Yates & Hoffman both under 18's walking to clubs in the same comp, worrying trend at Berri over last few years.

As per clearances Ridgway, Woolston, Ladd, A Thompson & Yates all out of last years team that didn't make finals.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Berri younger players leaving over the last few years could be an issue with its senior players unable to relate to them ,or vice versa
The blame used to go to previous coaches ,how ever the trend continues ,issues must run deeper then that

People had a sook when Waikerie were dominant now people already worrying after Renmark win one flag in an upset and recruit strongly for the following year. There was and will always be rumours of clubs paying under the table when they land a big recruit but unless there is proof and they actually get done its best everyone else just gets on with it and tries to find a way to beat them.

Whilst im here ill throw out some predictions of minor round ladder finishing positions for the 2 leagues.

RFL - Renmark, Waikerie, Loxton North, Barmera, Loxton, Berri

RIFL - Sedan/Cambrai, Wunkar, Paringa, BSR, Ramco, Cobdogla, browns well, lyrup

I think anyyone from top 2 in RFL and top 4 in RIFL can win the flag. Gonna be a great year of footy up the riverland when it kicks off next month.

I think you will find the issue is $$.

If you get a club that is willing to throw $200 a game at a youngster that hasn't proven himself at A grade level and the youngster comes back expecting the club to match it, its likely the said youngster is going to get told he's dreaming. Especially when scarce funds could be used more wisely.

Seems a bit strange that he would go in Barmera's centenary year (if he is going at all)
