If you are worried just self isolate and let the rest of us get on with it ;) catch a worse disease from some of h thy e changerooms I saw last year (just trying to lighten up before anyone jumps down my throat)

Exactly.
If you’re worried about it, self isolate.
Don’t wait to be told.

I’ll take the necessary precautions and move on with life.

I'm not worried, was just curious was all. 8)

Yeah im no expert on this but that is why i posted asking for peoples thoughts. I left his conference thinking 'geez his the first politician ive heard say Lockdown doesn't work' I've heard some say they dont want to go as far as that i but i hadn't heard one say that it didn't work.

You definitely get the feel that Sco Mo has an eye for the future economy as well as current dangers more than most other politicians around the world. If i am brutally honest i don't 100% disagree with it. I hate talking like this but how many deaths are acceptable if it means we dont **** the financial future for the next generation of kids. Tough question that doesn't sit comfortably in the heart but one that a Prime Minister probably needs to look at.

I also get a feel Sco Mo is more tolerant to allow risk to an older generation than he would be if this was affecting kids which in its own right is an extremly complex morale debate.

My average mug punters feel:

Italy, France, South Korea, NZ- Do what it takes right now to eliminate Coronovirus at any financial cost, we will find a way to survive the recession. Every death is one to many.

Australia, England- We have an appetite for a slightly higher death rate if it means the country is financially stable.

I get the same feels. I understand we're behind Italy, France etc in terms of cases and time, but I do wonder if it keeps spreading at current rates whether ScoMo's position will change.

Our school is completely out of hand sanitiser stores at the minute and can't get any more until whenever Woolies can get it here, my classroom has none after running out today. If it gets in here it'll get around quickly.

I get we are behind them at the moment but cant understand how we cant see what history has shown us multiple times so far. The baby step approach does nothing to slow down the infection rate.

I was happy to accept the government may have been wanting to bring citizens home, allow businesses to prepare and understand their requirements etc before doing the lockdown but after Sco Mo's conference today a lockdown sees miles away.

Im the first to admit i think this is somewhat of a slight over-reaction and im the first to admit as a father of 3 children with only one living grandparent i lean towards to protecting our childrens future.

BUT if locking us down for 2 weeks, working from home for that period is significantly going to reduce the numbers of deaths im more than happy to get it done. It's not a big consequence for me despite my personal feelings to make if it means multiple lives are saved. Lets lockdown, get it sorted and get back on with living life.

I don’t think a 2 week lockdown now, in a months time or even a few months time will achieve a lot. We have to be smart enough to work our way through the situation and adapt our behaviour to lessen the affect in both the death toll and the economy.

Not everyone can work from home and enjoy their normal income.
I can and am grateful for that.

There are plenty of people who can’t.
And as Brodlach has eluded too many times, small business’s will go broke overnight.

Genuine question.

If its such a bad action why have most countries gone down this path. What math are we using that other countries aren't

I just dont get why we are bucking international trend and not doing this.

Nah its unlikely to either unfortunately given she's a sole trader. There is another stimulus package being announced monday i believe...so maybe....
The shock is it just happened sooner rather than a little later.
Everyone is spending money on groceries etc so flowers and other 'luxury' items like coffee, those shops are suffering.
But we are just one of many many people in this situation....

There are litrerally two types of people at the moment..

1. Those who realise it's about not letting it get out of control, and the possible implications if it does.
2. Those who are heroes that compare it to the flu and think everyone has gone bananas.

Sadly it's the number 2's who will be the cause of it getting out of control if it does.

My previous boss would come in even if on his death bed with a cold or flu. Bloody coughing and sneezing on everything.
Then of course everyone else got it but he was the higher ups hero.
I lost it with him one day and told him to piss of home till he was better.
Didn't appreciate my tone. Maybe why he's my old boss?

Had a boss who used to read out at the staff xmas show the list of employees who hadn't missed a day. Was pretty insulting for a few people, especially one that had cancer!!

And how's this for a great organisation to work for, we've just been told we are all getting a day of paid leave as well as a $200 Woolies voucher to drive into Darwin with. That's looking after your staff!!

Does she take online orders and how far does she have delivery?
Just last Thursday I got some flowers sent to my mum.

Perhaps SAFooty members could help out with flowers for their missus.
I'd buy a bunch to help out.
