Wouldn’t think it would be over a weekend

Morrison has shown he is looking to protect businesses, they would need at least 48-72 hours to be able to shutdown, move equipment to staffs homes etc etc

Why do you think that? First step is to close schools first I would have thought

Surely schools first, sort that out then everyone else.
I hope it doesn’t come to that.

Yeah agree, when they do lock us down they will be able to say we should have taken the hints.

Not sure about others but starting to see a lot of employees stood down indefinitely, especially in the sport and rec industry. FFSA, SACA and basketball SA all had to stand down a heap of staff due to no sports competition being played, including development officers who can’t be attending clinics etc

I definitely lean towards that we will look back on history and reconsider whether all the job loses, economic destruction, secondary mental health and physical health consequences were worth it / was there a better way

not a lot of info coming from my employers, but thats no surprise, communication isn't their strong point.
Clients are sharing a bit more, as they are hit hard with certain bans.

The long term impact on tourism, and cruises in particular will be interesting. Mrs C has always been keen on the idea of taking a cruise for a holiday. I on the other hand have always looked at cruises as being for the "oldies" and we have plenty of time for that. So while not being dead set against the idea, more active holidays are more my go. Mrs C has turned full circle and said last night cruises are out for her. Floating Petrie dish, or words to that affect!

Pat Pirate may want to give us an idea of what his days consist of at the minute - and WHY agents charge change of service or cancellation fees.

This week has been better than the last 2 weeks, we at least now know what the options are as far as re-booking clients and arranging any refunds that may be available. The start of the month was a real sh!t storm and not much fun at all. I had people in tears, people yelling, people in shock.

The only change and/or cancellation fees we are charging are those passed on by the airlines/wholesalers/suppliers - nothing charged directly by us. There are other companies that will charge as much as they can as they need to cover their 'service fees' and protect their commissions.

Too late, disembarked Thursday non NSW passengers got straight on a flight back to their home states, including an elderly woman that was in the Lyell Mc later that day but has since tested negative.

Thankfully, after some convincing, my daughter didn't fly to Sydney for her boyfriends 21st this weekend. Feel for the lad but I'm glad she came to her senses.
