Hopefully this greyhound (and human) coronavirus goes away and we can hopefully see him take on some distance group races.

Juat watched his last 2 wins and a couple of runs before that.
And he always showed potential. Its almost like the penny dropped for his last 2 wins. Probably 2 of the most dominating 700m wins since batman was at his peak.

Yeah I think the extra distance is what has clicked for him. Since he was a pup dad always thought he’d get 700 easily. Took some time to get him up there, but now he’s there it’s exciting to watch.
In saying that though he has been very good over all distances so far, just never could get going in the big ones (Aus cup was probably the clearest run he’s had in a group race)
With most 700mtr dogs being slow starters it definitely helps him get clear running room.

I also think that a lot of people will be more keen to tap into worm burner as sire now that his progeny are showing strength over the longer trips. Just off the top of my head I can think of over half a dozen from his litters that have won @ 600+ metres with Harley, sir truculent and shorino showing that little bit extra ability.

Would be just desserts for the butchers as they really got the ball rolling by providing sa bitches with free services.

Strangely enough Worm Burner wasnt a good 600m though. The Butchers tried everything for him to go 600m.

But his value is on the rise.

Yeah I don’t know, may have been an issue with the short corner start for him, but you could always tell he had super strength just by watching his 500mtr runs.

Absolutely. His last sectionals over 500m had 600m all over them, but he really battled the last section over 600m

Yeah just had a look at his 2 runs over 600 and I guess you can make a case to say he was rather unlucky both times, first look missed the kick and ran into a wall of dogs a few times round, then his 2nd look was held wide (running style was out there anyway) all the way and probably ran 650, even then his run wasn’t too bad, but for the expectations he should have gone better.

SALE R7

8 TERRENS CLOSE 3.61
2 ICE COOL KAEDYN 4.45
4 WEEONA JIMMY 4.95
3 BURNING MOUNTAIN 9.31
1 MINTER ZOOM 11.49
7 SPOTTED PANTHER 15.77
6 ICHIBAN FAIRY 45.22
5 ST LEO 62.03

#4 E/W

My view on the race:

1--------------Likes to push wide at bend + will peak dist against these
2 ----------------- First few steps are the risky part, needs to cross the 1 before bend, will be exploding mid race on rail
3 ----------------------Pings and crosses but peaks
4 ---------------- Explodes mid race and got the gun draw with pace inside moving to rail and slow outside pushing wide
5 ------ Slow and wants wide
6 ----------------Pushes wide and tentative into bend
7-----------------Lost early zip and will want rail ,6 may stop
8 -----------------------Loves sale pings and best draw to sweep around them here. Needs too find spot outside 3

I agree, think 8 is a strong hope here.
I think 6 can lob into 3rd/4th at big big odds

SALE R10

6 RIVERSIDE DASH 3.71
1 OKAWAY EYE CANDY 4.13
3 GOLDEN NIGHT 6.29
7 HURRY HURRY 6.99
8 TAMOU BALE 9.58
4 ASTON ASAHI 22.26
5 AIRLY SPENCE 51.71
2 QUICK PAWS 57.46

#6 E/W

Believe the 6 is perfectly drawn here with 4,5 slower out and 7,8 don't want to crash to rails. Just needs that first couple of seconds clear before sweeping across and cutting down over the 1,2. Probably too many runners in front of the 3 this time to win. And #1 we know hit/miss, but if jumps and holds out 2 will win.
