As discussed yesterday that’s enough right there to suggest the US situation is barely Trumps fault and his dealing with a completely different situation.

Apart from when he basically tells them to protest.

Trump accused of 'fomenting rebellion' after 'LIBERATE' tweets

Washington Governor Jay Inslee on Friday accused Donald Trump of "fomenting domestic rebellion and spreading lies" after the United States president urged supporters to "LIBERATE" three states led by Democratic governors.

"The president's statements this morning encourage illegal and dangerous acts. He is putting millions of people in danger of contracting COVID-19," Inslee said in a series of tweets on Friday afternoon.

"His unhinged rantings and calls for people to 'liberate' states could also lead to violence. We've seen it before," Inslee added. "The president is fomenting domestic rebellion and spreading lies - even while his own administration says the virus is real, it is deadly and we have a long way to go before restrictions can be lifted."

Inslee's tweets came after Trump apparently encouraged the growing protests against the stay-at-home restrictions aimed at stopping the coronavirus.

"LIBERATE MINNESOTA!" "LIBERATE MICHIGAN!" "LIBERATE VIRGINIA," Trump said in a tweet-storm in which he also lashed out at New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for criticising the federal response. Cuomo "should spend more time 'doing' and less time 'complaining,'" the president said.

Which is inciting insurrection, and is illegal.

Very concerning Us News.

Death toll probably 3 to 5 times higher than "official numbers" as it only includes hospital numbers.

Many USA residents die at home (not new) due to the set up of their health system.

Read an article yesterday from the Vic health official the government has been taking their advice from, and acting accordingly (ie, cancelling the Grand Prix). His take was that under the current plan of attack, no MCG gatherings or pub re-openings are likely to occur this year. The only caveat was that the government could change that plan of attack. Whilst the country maintains or even improves these numbers we get closer to an easing of restrictions, the ones most everyday folk look forward to (pubs, sporting venues etc) are probably still a fair while away was the impression.

Yeah if we can produce these numbers for the next couple of weeks i can see things opening up just as quick as things were closed.

Its clear it will be a scaled reintroduction of rules/laws, you would think the first one will be gatherings of 100 will be back soon provided they follow the 1:4sqm ratio. Give it a month and if we dont see a rise in cases that will be opened to 500 and then eventually back to normal by potentially the end of May/June.

I think both local borders and overseas borders will stay closed for a while yet though which is fair enough, the last thing they need to do is release all back into the world to travel all over Australia.

I thought I heard 41 this morning on my way in.

As much as I'd like to agree with you I'd rather see this thing totally diminished, I'm a bit optimistic but I think the initial July forecast for normality can still be achieved.

I agree unfortunately, I think Victoria are a long way behind us though, I don't think all states should fall under the one umbrella and I'd like to see the borders closed for a decent period of time.

Off course it is. That Vic Health offical becomes pretty irrelevant once this is all done and dusted. He would be loving it at the moment. ;)

Lol so you think he’s recommending measures (affecting everyone in his state and possibly many more throughout the country) to maintain his own relevance?
