Bad news released quietly on a Friday night - looks like the Crows have taken a leaf out the politician's playbook, the old 'taking out the trash' trick.

Really on a hiding to nothing these days, the news is a 24/7 cycle and with so much online it really doesn't matter.

Nobody but you suggested that. I think it's clear a club statement needed to come out sooner. Maybe the crow media types at CH 7 just couldn't hold it anymore.

Happened Easter Thursday. He told the welfare officer Saturday afternoon. club ran their investigation with Stengle to front the group during a Friday zoom meeting as players are scattered across Australia. Plan was to release it after that meeting. Would the timing of the release have been an "issue" if Hunter incident didn't happen?

I think sitting on it for a week serves no purpose, if the reasoning is that he needed to address the playing group then call a Zoom meeting on Easter Saturday once the club knew, get it over and done with.

Not ideal on two fronts there. calling players to a meeting during a holiday period and release it during a holiday period will be accused of taking out the trash again.
