I'm on the other side of thinking, I can't see how you guys would be closed, firing off a few rounds would be great for the mental health and no ones going to stand within 1.5 metres of someone holding a gun.

As for golf, I think it should be groups of 4, it's not as though you are ever really in close proximity of anyone.

3 is a stupid number.

FWIW, apparently Penfield had a sign saying max of 4, that was Saturday.

Each course is making their own decisions, Ive seen on SM that Mt Compass and Lady Bay have gone from 2 to 3 this week. Not sure if they have loosened the cart situation.

Get fugged China
Beijing attacks PM's handling of virus, bushfires
Michael Smith

China correspondent

Shanghai | Beijing has ramped up its criticism of the Morrison government's push for a coronavirus inquiry by accusing the prime minister of trying to blame China to deflect domestic criticism of his handling of the outbreak and the summer bushfires.

The Communist Party's mouthpiece, the People's Daily, published a comment piece on Tuesday accusing Australian politicians of pandering to the United States and said the push for a global investigation would fail.

The strongly worded article in the newspaper, which directly reflects the views of the Chinese leadership, noted domestic criticism of Scott Morrison's leadership after the bushfires and 780,000 job losses in Australia from mid-March to early April.

"The deeply troubled Morrison government is anxious to find an outlet for the domestic public’s anger," the article, which appeared in the newspaper's overseas edition, said.

“They are using an old trick to try and blame China.”

"Australia is trying to please the United States and be a bully in the region."

It was the first time China has directly criticised Mr Morrison or his handling of the outbreak, a tactic it has deployed against the United States and some other countries.

China's ambassador to Australia, Cheng Jingye, first raised the possiblity of economic fallout for Australia in an exclusive interview with The Australian Financial Review published on Monday. He said the push for an inquiry could trigger a boycott of Australian universities, tourist operators and exports of beef and wine.

Foreign Minister Marise Payne on Monday accused China of "economic coercion"

A separate article in the widely-read local edition of the newspaper also attacked Sydney's Daily Telegraph use of the Chinese national emblem to link COVID-19 with China. The Global Times also accused Australia of seeking to "actively meet the needs" of the United States.

The People's Daily article repeatedly accused Australia of "following" the United States. It said the Morrison government had moved "swiftly" to present its "letter of loyalty" to Washington. The article also raised old grievances about Australia's criticism of its role in the South China Sea.

While other publications in China regularly publish negative stories about Australia, it was the first time the People's Daily has directly criticised Canberra since 2018 when relations soured under the Turnbull government. A separate article also lashed out at The Daily Telegraph's use of China's national emblem to link it with coronavirus.

The Global Times also published an article on Tuesday accusing Australia of seeking to "actively meet the needs" of the United States.

The People's Daily article also criticised Australian "politicians", suggesting the broadside was also aimed at Labor which has supported Mr Morrison's push for an inquiry.

"Most countries are advocating a united effort to fight the epidemic but some Australian politicians are taking a different path. They are trying to use the epidemic to get attention on the world stage. What is their motivation?" the article said.

"Anyone with common sense knows Australia is taking advantage of the situation to shift the blame from criticism it is not handling the epidemic effectively."

It said Morrison's push for an independent inquiry would fail as France, the United Kingdom and some European Union countries would not back it.

"This is a slap on the face which has come quickly."

I find it astonishing that France, the UK etc. would not back an enquiry, assuming that part's true.
