How many people die from the flu in the US each year approximately? I heard it's up to 60,000 people. Is that correct?
So you've seen everything have you?

Trump probably sees it as a win, wipes out a heap of the elderly and weak.

My work uses some products manufactured in China, not as many as I thought as our equipment generally comes from around the world.

But the China equipment, well it has a similar product but different which we can get fro New Zealand. I'm not naming companies here deliberately but the way.

Anyway the NZ product is of better quality, they are much much easier to deal with and gernally the quality of schematics and drawings are far superior.

The China equipment whilst does it's job is a massive head **** from the time it is order to the time it is installed and in operation.

What's the other difference. The Chinese product is cheaper. But with some intelligent accounting and allowing for the additional engineering time to sort through the head ache, the NZ product is going to be used on about 5 projects going forward.

Honestly if Australia manufactured this product id use it in a heart beat. And I would be able to get it through the accounts as well because once I smashed a good 200 hrs of engineering time to sort this **** out, the costs become interesting.

Also in the last few weeks it seems our upper management are becoming very allergic to China. Not a bad thing at all

Flu season in America lasts approximately 6 months yeah? That's still pretty deadly for something that has a vaccine. Not sure why the personal attack. Just asking a question. You're lucky I have thick skin otherwise I'd get offended by you mob ;)

But hardly surprising in a place that has just under the population of Australia living in a space smaller than the Eyre Peninsula.

People say we're backwards for living here.

Yeah well at least we wont all die from disease because we're all squashed together...

Nothing personal but stupidity left unchecked can do a lot of damage.

60k would be a bad flu season. The fact that most of the population have antibodies to fight the flu and not Covid-19 seems to be lost on you though.

so 60,000 can still die during a bad flu season and that's with antibodies to fight it? Wow, that's crazy. Imagine how many would die of the flu if they had no antibodies? Thanks for that info mate. Very interesting.

Epidemiology and transmission of COVID-19 in 391 cases and 1286 of their close contacts in Shenzhen, China: a retrospective cohort study

I don't expect anyone to wade through an entire cohort study, but this graph is interesting:

Image

Essentially, children are just as likely to be infected (attack rate) as adults.

So technically with only 14 cases active, if we go and shoot them all we have eradicated the virus in SA and our death rate would still be considered low?

14 known cases, but would be people with it that haven’t been tested or are asymptomatic

So this Covidapp. If someone contracts Covid they will check their data and anyone who spent 15mniutes within 1.5m of them will be notified?

How many people have any of you spent time with that would satisfy this criteria?? Besides close family, which can easily be traced and warned anyway what does this app actually achieve apart from giving Amazon data to do with as they please? I am working full time with about 20 other people, not one of us would fit the criteria.
Also goes along way to explaining why we have had very little community spread in our vast, open, warm country. Just get back to normal ffs, No international flights in without quarantine is the only measure we now need.
