Just write off this year and imagine how bloody good next season will be. Make every week a blockbuster.

I know, I don't really have any interest in Supercoach or tipping comps now, either way it isn't going to be a "real" season.

Clubs such as yours will be disadvantaged IMO, with an older list the players and medical staff have modified trainings etc for the older blokes to manage them through the week, I can't see Gazza, Paddy or Selwood getting up after only a 5 day break on multiple occasions.

I'm happy to come bottom this year. Need some good draft picks and this is the year to have a shit year as nobody gives a toss.

Get rid of Scott as well, added bonus. Catter fact though, we have never finished lower than 12th in our history.

They wouldn't be going this far down the track without having the health authorities advice and support.

They would, they need a plan in place either way and if the have been pestering health authorities with questions and asking advice they should pull their heads in and let those people get on with the important things, like keeping us all healthy and alive, not worrying about some footy.

The government health authorities would be willingly working with the AFL to get them back on deck knowing the community well being by having some normality return.

There would be no pestering there would literally be one liason the AFL are directly working with to meet the requirements.

You honestly dont think the AFL would have gone this far and not thought about a problem you were able to think of.......................seriously.

Even my piddly organisation i work for are in talks with state health authorities about what a reopening looks like.

With training for contact sports to be permitted in the NT from 15 May (see my post in the COVID thread), I think the NT has been chosen as a trial site for how the recovery may be implemented down South.

Planning for how we return to the new normal as whufc said is in train.

Gyms opening here in two weeks too.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Spot on, there would be a small part of the Health team that are working out the road back to normality, organisations like the AFL would be able to tap into that

Yep.

SA will be expecting Covid Action Plans for any gyms opening once the government give the green light. We have been finding out what some of those requirements may look like and what the document requirements will be.

The health department liason we have been speaking to is in full support and more than willing to help out and allow people to get back to living healthier lives.

Talking to an interstate GWS player today, they have been told to get back to Sydney on Thursday. Obviously to start training soon after that.

Not sure how this will all work. SA, WA and QLD to a lesser extend have managed to control the spread and are able to starting st easing restrictions. NSW and Vic are still a problem, I mean Vic is starting to look unsteady again. NSW are just one debacle away from disaster.

Rowe this morning reckons the AFL will be the first competition to get up and running and all state and community competitions will follow.

Reasonable to think the top flight starts first and the leagues below follow.

Had that discussion with my lad last week. He was of the opinion that surely the bush leagues with less people & chance of transmission should get the green light first. I said Nup - AFL won't wear that, its them first, every day of the week. They ain't playing second fiddle to the hicks!
