You'd think this is the AFL's golden chance to "experiment" with several things in the most compromised season in AFL history

Because it was going to affect the Victorian players at that stage, different rules now.

You'd have to say if a side from SA or WA win the comp, it would be an incredible achievement, given majority of their games will be interstate and the VIC clubs will play almost exclusively out of the MCG/Etihad.

I'd assume that if they are forced to stay in QLD for the entire season they will still get 'home" games up there forcing VIC & NSW teams to travel to play them.

If they get the okay from their governments to return half way through they are going to be coming home hard with a bulk run of homes games at Optus or Adelaide Oval.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Davies this morning said Port are asking for up to 70 staff to go. Players, reserves, coaches, support staff, media etc.

Wonder if they can all take their families?

For games to be in SA we know SA Health are going to have to lift the 14 day quarantine period, given we're COVID free* I can't see us opening borders up any time soon, in fact, quite the opposite, those measures staying in place will protect us for longer the longer they are in place.

*Almost

Which makes me think that once the sides have played each other twice, it'll be the VIC borders that open up to allow interstate sides to come in and play their "cross-hub/conference" games, and not the VICs leaving.

Absolute never in doubt.

AFL to start within a couple of weeks of the NRL was an odds on favourite.

Players end up willing to move into hubs so they can earn a pay packet was unbackable.

No matter what this season is always going to have a the biggest ever * next to the premiers name. TBH i wouldnt even both printing premiers t-shirts.
