So in SA it's just the Messenger Masthead going digital? Thought that went digital years ago, can't remember the last time I read one!

And the messenger in recent years became junk mail with only a few stories unfortunately.

Losing a rugby friend to the black dog last night leaving behind four boys including a team mate.

Absolutely shocked, another case of no one from outside his inner circle saw it coming, had a very steady secure job, four boys excelling in the world both academically and on the sporting field. Was always the 'happiest' bloke at the rugby club, if he wasnt cooking the bbq, working behind the bar, strapping players he was out being an extra hand on the training track.

We just got to talk guys, there cant be any problem in this world that is worth leaving behind your children, you cant let them bury your body in these circumstances! We cant keep doing this to ourselves.

Very sorry to hear that, whufc. Absolutely tragic, particularly for the family and the lads left behind, and especially when the exterior seemed to paint such a positive picture.

Yeah just another case of someone being on top of the world but that wasnt the reality. The black dog doesn't discriminate on wealth, postcode, success.

Was a state manager in a thriving industry!

Eldest son was excelling academically at Prince Alfred College and playing state rugby.

Middle child had azburgers but was playing state rugby and looked on course to make the junior aussie team and was a 'poster boy' for azburgers not being a barrier.

Youngest of the middle children was excelling with the rugby and had signed a junior development contract with the Melbourne Rebels.

The only thing anyone can pin point is maybe a marriage breakdown but once again from the outside no one knew.

We are guessing a note of some sort was left behind as SAPOL had his missing person listed within 10 hours of him being gone.

Sorry for your loss mate, I too lost a mate a couple weeks back to the same thing.. I think I've now farewelled more mates to suicide than I have aged family to natural causes. :'(

It's ok not to be ok, time people (men in particular) were more empowered to speak up and seek help.

Feel for your friend's family, especially the 4 boys.

Sorry to read that WHIFC and for your loss. I was following that on Facebook last night as I know some people from the Rams. Sounds like he was a very much loved member of the Rams community and gone way too soon. May he Rest In Peace.

Sorry to hear Whoofer. You honour your mates with your fight to continue pushing mental health awareness and the need for anyone, but blokes especially, to speak up. I’m sure it’s not why you do it, and it probably doesn’t help, but I’d imagine your mate would be very proud of the active stance you take. Condolences mate
