Proof that you need someone in charge. This is what happens when there's no leadership, when there's no direction.

Trump is making “W” look like a genius, and that’s simply impossible.

If the US don't come to their senses in November after recent events then they will never learn.

True, and republicans will always vote Republican. Dems will vote Dems it will be interesting to see what happens in November.

Before Corona and these riots it was a 60/40 he would be returned and problem win on those numbers.

Now very much a 50/50.

I think before Coronavirus/riots Trump was home n hosed....a lot more than 60/40 in my mind.

Now he should be facing an uphill battle to win, in fact, any other jurisdiction and he wouldnt win.

But look at who the Dems have put forward.....i mean seriously....if thats the best they have big problems...

I still think Trump wins. He only cares about America and that is his biggest appeal to middle America.

Yeah fair enough, I'm not sure if he gets up. Does he have enough people coming out of the woods (some literally in some cases) to get him across the line? I think maybe but not so sure.

It depends how that middle class swings.

It will be close and the next few months will be interesting.

If Trump sends in the military, then the US will, quite ironically, resemble Hong Kong.

Now very much a 50/50.

The problem is with voluntary voting and elections on a week day - only the extremists bother to vote and the biggest extremist minority wins for their edge of the spectrum. The only hope is that the moderates in the middle ground get sick of this recurring situation and make the effort next time.

Our system of compulsory presentation on a weekend gets the moderates there, and then most of them think and vote once they have made the effort to present rather than throw their vote away at that point.

As for good US Presidents - Obama had some appeal but my favourite was Jimmy Carter, who was teaming the US up with the Russians to try to get solar energy collector systems up into orbit and transmit the power to Earth (and ultimately the moon) by laser beam to collector stations in the deserts. A Bostonian colleague of mine who visited Oz as a lecturer back then was already training groups of Russian and US techs to get along for the 2 year placements planned.

Then came Ronnie Reagan and "Star Wars" instead...
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!
