I hope he's comparing them to clubs in the Barossa etc and not to other ammo clubs. I understand they lose players to the big country money, but they are the Man City of ammo clubs (without the trophies to show for it).

Does this mean South Gawler have pulled the pin on the season or just that they wont be getting paid so they want to be on the move?
If its the latter thats why clearances have to be frozen and these players made to play where they signed to start with

Doesn't seem like he was talking about other ammo clubs.

From the advertiser:
“I actually think we’ve strengthened the squad from the season before,” Hay said.
“We did lose two key players and another A grade player, all to South Gawler.
“They were three guys that have played at the club for at least seven or eight years.
“It’s something we’re always competing with in our location when you’ve got the Barossa and Adelaide Plains leagues close by.
“We’re not a high-paying club so we don’t try and compete with clubs on the money front.

They will need to improve a fair bit on last year if they hope to be in the mix for finals.

Well I'm getting paid -$350 for the season, so you guys must have some expensive subs. ;)

I'm sure our top guys may get equal to or more than your 18th-21st guys, but on the whole, I reckon you'd have us covered by a bit. No grudge, I'm jealous of the resources you have and wish we had them.

I agree that SN can get priced out when dealing with some close-in country clubs (everyone north of GJ Road is in that bracket), but they wouldn't get priced out when dealing with fellow ammo clubs.

I see South Gawler have denied clearances for all their players wanting to go to SAlisbury North. Whats the reason?

That would be correct. If league folded they can move as the BLG is going ahead they have to play there.

Let that be a lesson to you Sturt. You don't beat Glenelg 3 times in a row in Grand Finals and get away with it.

And rightly so. About time some of the mercenries had the balance tipped against them for a chnnge
Why havent the CFL come out and announced some rules around player movement? Are they just making it up as they go?

Lol the BLGFA have played a large part in creating the conditions to suit the mercenaries and I seem to remember several posts from yourself criticising SANFL attempts to reign clubs in.
