Alright then, well if people are that desperate they can't wait another week.. surely they'd be allowed to go to a public oval and view the match as long as they weren't in groups of greater than 20 in in areas around the oval?

How often (bar/viewing decks aside) would you get more than 20 people grouped together anyway at a game?

I think clubs were given the extra game (as a trial) to TRY and make up for only having 4 x home games in the regular season and have a chance to sell some beers and snags and make a little bit of coin. If there's a limit on numbers allowed in then its kind of pointless. Yes, you may not get a big crowd anyway, but at least you'd have the chance to try I guess...

To answer your question - we'd probably get groups of 20 inside the club, out on the balcony, under the pergola, in magoos corner, next to the scoreboard as well as a group of opposition players and supporters (unless we're playing Pulteney ;) )

Maybe that's my problem, I've been away from Ingle Farm too long I've forgotten what it's like to have supporters, and have grown used to the 5 people who come watch us.

Yep, my facebook feed is pretty much nothing more than people commenting on other peoples posts trying to get them to play football at their clubs.

When was this announced? Or does this imply new players that have gone to a league not playing this year will only be allowed to return to previous clubs?

"Contracted Players
The League will only accept a transfer or permit for a 2020 SANFL Community contracted player should:
• The Source Club be a club and or League who has withdrawn from competition for season 2020
• The Source Club accepts the transfer request of their own volition
 AdFL will not accept anticipated changes to SANFL Community Contract (TPPS) conditions due to COVID-19 considerations as a reason to register a player who has declined to play for the club they originally agreed to play when the financial benefits were available.
• Eligible returning players must return to their most immediate former AdFL Club or an AdFL Club with whom they have previously played 25 matches as per current Regulation"

Always been the rule in SAAFL mate
If you transfer to a club you can only transfer back to the original club in the same year

Okay so it is only for players who have transferred this year, the way it is worded implies it could apply to players who played last year.

Basically I'm reading it as if you've gone bush for the cash since Nov 1st and your country league/club is still playing, you can't come back just because the cash is now 'gone'.

Should also be noted, player points still apply and the AdFL have said already they'll strictly enforce the 3 player rule.. so those clubs who think they're gonna go out and recruit half a country club could be in for a shock.

Some might argue that a premiership this year could be harder than others, particularly if there is an influx of quality footballers back into the competition.

Of course winning a premiership would cap it all off - and i'm sure everyone would still celebrate accordingly.. but wouldn't say it meant nothing.

*sigh

seriously..there have been "compromised" divisions over the years for various reasons..should those flags have an *?

off the top of my head..what about divisions that had only 7 or 8 teams?

divisions that had C grades in them playing A grades?

clubs losing all premiership points during a season and missing finals?

clubs being kicked out of finals midway?

clubs not being able to play at home in finals and having to use neutral ovals?

etc etc..

the clubs that can push through all this adversity and get to hold up a cup are just as deserving as any other year..

I get all that, and agree whoever wins it will enjoy the night.

The other 90% of people will be heard saying "9 game season, who gives a ****!!'.
