According to one of my bosses SA will open up borders with a couple of states in the next 2-3 weeks and the remaining states in about 5-6 weeks. Marshall is set to make an announcement on Friday regarding this.

Bloody ridiculous. Why not totally open up the internal State now? SA Health want to be cautious about a second wave. They're worried they'll get the blame if they open too early. How long should we wait to see if it comes? 2- 3 years?
They are destroying small business in this state.

An activist who attended Melbourne's anti-racism protest on Saturday has tested positive to COVID-19.

It comes as PM Scott Morrison said the events were a ‘spanner in the works’ for lifting restrictions.

How many protesters would actually get tested?

I'm assuming they've developed symptoms and subsequently have been tested.

I was under the impression the person didn’t catch it at the protest but had already had it unknowingly when they attended

My point is if they were prepared to take the risk of marching in thousands then they probably don't have enough care to go and get checked if they felt like crap.

My view is probably based on how many tin-foil hatters I have on facebook that have taken the piss at our government saying the C19 is a myth without understanding that our government made us avoid it as much as possible.

While NSW & VIC still have a handful of daily cases surely that it hasn't blown out to be a "2nd wave" is evidence enough to open to borders.

I believe the evidence suggests we're yet to get the second wave.

How do we get a 2nd wave if these outbreaks in NSW/VIC haven't done this?

Yes. I scanned it briefly and superficially, and decided not to bother with anything that long here.

Here's hoping it was only one loonie at the demonstrations who was infected and it has not spread wider. We looked to be turning the corner over here, only to hit another potential snag to opening everything back up again. The novelty of working from home has long faded, although the thought of opening a tin very soon does appeal.

From a business perspective, I need to be out on the road, back over to SA, as soon as the borders open, and I think they will open to Victoria last, not first. Then get back to Kiwi land, hopefully in September when the "travel bubble" will open. Broader I need to get back into Asia as well, and initially I was thinking that was no hope this year. Doing some reading last night, I think its possible by Nov/Dec.... hopefully!
