Only if it's 45m wide

It is 45, i just checked, so how does Sic get a 50 just inside the square to just outside it? He shouldve been having a shot from very closer to the 50m line than the centre square

It is 50 metres.

AFL centre square size
Some measurements specific to the AFL are: - Centre square – each line is 45 metres in length. - Goal square width is 6.4m. - Goal square length is 9m. The goal posts for AFL matches are 15 metres high and the point posts 10 meters high. The length of the cricket pitch is 22 yards, which in metric terms is 20.12 metres.

I also found some saying 50m.
I think its likely its 50m, the umpires wouldnt get it wrong
MCG is 160m long, it looks about 5m between the arcs and square

FFS Richmond, not the start to the round I was looking for tips wise. A different result from last week obviously but another real slow start by the Tigers and only the ten goals in two weeks is something we're not accustomed to from them. Hawthorn bounced back alot more convincingly than I certainly thought, I was confident Richmond would win tonight but the Hawks doing what they do best- manufacturing another win.

The only reason it was a snoozer was because Richmond were so poor. Their first loss in 12 months. Should we get rid of them? I don't see how getting rid of 4 teams will eliminate snoozers. There will always be one sided contests and some teams will always play an unattractive style. Surely the fact one team can get belted at Geelong one week and next week beat the reigning premier is good for the competition.
