Considering buying the digital pass but you blokes are bagging it... is it really that bad?

No SANFL coverage in Melbourne.... although I think you can get replays on you tube?

It’s only $50 so what the...

Great win by South who copped a lot of injuries early.

Just.biy it, about 50c per game across all grades.

Or stare at the wall and watch for score updates on the app.

Get a membership for your club and get it for free!

Mind you if it doesn't work tomorrow like today I'll be burning down Adelaide Oval.

Its cheap but no one can say the commentary is not terrible. At least you get to see your team play but it really needs improving if the SANFL are serious about it.
Should buy a membership anyway even if its currently free I reckon.

It was a good feeling going to the footy again without the weight of compromisation that has been sitting on the SANFL’s shoulders for the last 6 seasons.

The Eagles started well, and finished well. South were very good in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. In the end, South were too good in the centre clearances and were able to kick some crucial late goals thanks to this.

From an Eagles point of view, not all was bad. Five very good debuts. Pearce Seymour has a steady head and good long left foot kick out of the back lines. Lachlan Jones had a great 2nd half and really showed promise - has plenty of good attributes and a strong body for a 1st year player playing alongside Seymour on a back flank. Lachlan McNeil, donning the famous ‘51’, would’ve brought a smile to Cica’s face with a strong tackle holding the ball gaining his first kick - everything he did was classy and Sheedy showed faith in the youngster putting him on ball to start the last quarter. Wehr and Mansell also showed plenty of pace and promise.

I thought Goldsworthy was very good for the Eagles and Redden had a strong presence, albeit the Eagles mids didn’t make the most of his ruckwork - Cross was too good.

Great to have the footy back!

Scores level.

That was what I was getting all day from the app. Managed to get low quality picture through the website but was barely watchable when casting to tv.

Wow a bit of a heart tester to start the season!
Very scrappy to start as expected but got better throughout the game.
Great fight back by South after quarter time.
Eagles had a huge last quarter to take the lead late but it was excellent to see South steady and get the win!
Joel Cross is still a star even at his age and was BOG.
Broadbent was great too and young Beau McCreery kicked 2 very important late goals.

We all know the Commentary is really bad on the DP but who is Bernie that is on there ? Geez he and Walsh are at extremes. One guy would make and an insomniac sleep and the other has no idea how to deliver a message. Its a shocking advertisement for the SANFL.

"Thousands flock to Adelaide Oval for largest sporting spectator event since lockdown".

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-06-27/ ... s/12399920

How about using some pictures of the actual attendees then, rather than A) a pic of a couple of obvious Crows fans going to an AFL game, and B) a few people turning up in suits for a corporate function ?

The funding cuts at the ABC have hit very swiftly indeed!

Always nice beating WWT. Gutsy win given we were 2 men down for most of the day, and were headed in the final term. Dull contest for 3 quarters, before 12 goals were kicked in the last.

The new-comers all contributed, including a few of the younger guys.

Rose with a dislocated shoulder, so will be missing for a while. Karpany was ruled out early with back spasms.

Agree on Bernie Mahoney, really added little to the coverage of South v WWT. Doubts he knew the name of half the players running around. I generally enjoy Michael Maney's calling though.

The funding cuts at the ABC have hit very swiftly indeed!

Funding cuts are nothing new to it, dating back at least a few decades if memory serves.

That said, I agree that a story about one the ''largest sporting events since lockdown'' warrants better than irrelevent stock images when the accompanying descriptions suggest otherwise. The ground is, what, 15 minutes down the road? Or surely the League had something they could have used?

Anyway, well done to all that have done, and continue to do, their bit for their club and other SANFL clubs in 2020.
