Wasn't the main driving forces to protect clubs from themselves essentially, the integrity of the competition, avoid mass exodus of players and clubs buying their way to quick, unsustainable success?

Wingfield and Ovingham - two clubs destroyed from a band of players/coaches going from club to club.
Brahma Lodge, Para Hills, Salis West - clubs that had a swift fall from grace and found themselves down in D6/D7 overnight.

doesn't Sports TSG advise you once you have the allocated 15 points that you cant select another player to take you over that limit?
It does if the system matches to the name and DoB. Doesn't work when a player has his name hyphenated in one league but then registered with us without the hyphen.

Bloody hyphens, they are a pain in the ass.

i have hated the points since its inception, most clubs, and especially this year, have had to deal with this mathematical headache and all the other clauses and "get outs" that are available..it IS rocket science at times..

Actually, no - it was as a result of Para Hills disappearing into thin air a few of years back after winning a flag

Thanks for playing everyone but it was actually a Community Football initiative - had absolutely nothing to do with anything happening in our league

The 3 player limit rule was however I know was initiated at Community Football by the league members who sat on it in 2014 8)

While the SANFL JUNIORS allow multiple junior sides at the
same club, how are clubs meant to produce juniors coming into
senior grades. old argument but reality.

Quality post.

Sadly I think some clubs are dying slow deaths.. sadly there is too much saturation of clubs and those with either established junior programs, or successful seniors will survive.

Get better, for longer, it really is that simple. Its hard work but if the long term existence of your club is important then developing and retaining a strong junior program is essential.

Some areas are shot when it comes to juniors

Central United - new arrivals in the area, not a traditional footy demographic anymore
Kilburn - as above
Adelaide Lutheran - City based, hard, competing with Mitcham, Unley, CLG etc
Pulteney - as above
Houghton - fighting hills clubs and TTG / Modbury

Then you have clubs like Para Hills, Ingle Farm, Mawson Lakes etc that put effort into programmes but the good kids end up leaving for the “big clubs” - TTG, Modbury, GG etc.. and the shit kids realise they’re shit and quit.

Every club has great intentions - but everyone is competing with multiple neighbours and sports

Acknowledge it isn't easy, all these "big" clubs were once small though.

It can change quickly though, down our way Port Noarlunga have until 2-3 years ago struggled with junior numbers, now they have have kids everywhere, they have put in a huge amount of work and other neighbouring "big" clubs are now struggling for numbers.

The fast growing suburbs of the Seafords are the main reason for porties gains.
