So a little hard for the Broadview camp to take their own action if no-one has a clue what happened. Watch video from 95.45 when Broadview No. 1 is taking his kick on the camera side wing.

Soon after you can see some trainers attending to a Scotch player on his haunches but the game otherwise continues with no reaction from any other player and very little diatribe from spectators. Will be interesting how this unfolds without any report or video evidence but clearly some eyewitnesses.

Pretty sure Scotch film all their games so if something happens they can send into the tribunal. Have been doing it for years. So they may have something on the incident.

If Scotch always video their games and the league knows, if there is an incident involving a Scotch player who has been done can the league ask for the video from them?

Big call to make this early even if it is a shortened season!!! PHOS, SHOCS are very good sides and Sharks haven’t played TTG or Broadies yet!!! They are massive tests. Even Scotch on their small ground will pose a serious threat. No easy games in Div 2 even if the scoreboard says otherwise

Further news on the Broadview Scotch incident. Downed player has a ruptured spleen. In case you dont know what a ruptured spleen here is the definition and its cause.

"A ruptured spleen is typically caused by a blow to the left upper abdomen or the left lower chest, such as might happen during sporting mishaps, fistfights and car crashes. An injured spleen can rupture soon after the abdominal trauma or, in some cases, days or weeks after the injury.

I think that says it all.

All A Grade games are filmed. You would have to be game, or effing stupid, to deliberately belt someone these days

Plenty of passion from Barracker 1 though. But he could have used a different term than "king hit" which implies a strike to the head.

A king hit doesn't have to be to the head. It implies the recipient was not expecting to be hit, therefore unable to defend himself.

Plenty of hype around Salisbury North pre-season, just taking a bit for the lads to gel? They gave Henley a good run for their money, I'm sure they'll give Glenunga a fair touch up at home.

Speaking of Henley, 4 from 4 but they haven't put anyone away, just doing what they need to do to get the win, I think there's 5 or 6 genuine premiership threats.

Update: The Scotch OC player somehow got a bleeding spleen when he was 30M off the play. Its still bleeding today (Tuesday) His seasons over till 2021and if Flinders medical staff have their way, he wont play again as his spleen would certainly rupture if hit again. He is 21 and confronted with this. Apparently there is a tribunal hearing tomorrow night so lets all stop the commentary and see how the Ammos deal with it.

For anyone reading this and bitching because the post has been removed, read on.....

As you're well aware, some mainstream media are grubs and will scour this website for the slightest thing that looks like half a story, which may in term may bring the league's reputation into question.

Therefore, this is a small part of the reason that the rule here is, that we don't mention it, until the tribunal has dealt with it - after that, OR if the media DO happen to get a hold of it in the meantime, then obviously there's not much we can do. It then becomes somewhat of an open slather

Usually, when people blow up on here, it's because they're personally and emotionally invested, meaning that most of the time, what they write can be inflamed and or/exaggerated (you know, one side to a story)

OR in this case, the post was more about poo-pooing on another club, rather than being concerned about the actual incident at-hand.

ie; "there was an incident on saturday, in which a scotch player ended up in hospital "allegedly" as a result of a behind play incident from a Broadies player, we're not happy with the incident and Scotch may lodge an investigation" is much better than;

"a scotch kid ended up in hospital as a result of a dirty dog act by a filthy broadview player, they've always been filthy ever since 1879 and they're a pack of spineless ****"

This also gives just enough information so then this also avoids the clubs in question being involved in a media circus, not unlike the TOSsers a couple of years back.

So again, we need to look at the bigger picture. Ok, if you think it's ok to crap all over another club then use another website to do it because it won't be tolerated here. There's a fine line between banter and sniping.

Unless it's Bedge and he's going savage on your BBQ, then you possibly deserve it, so step it up ;)

I for one, have more important things to do with my day than go back and forth with empty threats from clubs to "take it further" if things aren't taken down. Seriously, you're grown men, take your squabbles elsewhere. :?

Rant over.

Yeah agree. If there was a real likelihood it would rupture again with physical contact, they would just remove it.
