No, imagine having to fly out at 6am on a Sunday, play at lunch time, do recovery and fly home that night to be in bed around midnight two weeks in a row. Who would want to do that?

They should HTFU and do whatever they have to do, we did.

The fly over and play at lunch time is a good effort. The recovery and fly home after is not exactly an arduous task...

I'm sure you've done a Melbourne or Sydney fly over and back in a day ( I've done a Perth in DLS time - brutal ), it takes it out of you and that's without playing a game of footy in the middle.

Brisbane and back in a day with a game would knock you for 48 hours.

I’m not arguing that it can be done but I think the AFL is rewarding QLD for their governments stance in allowing hubs. In the slim chance that Victoria can’t host the GF it’s a certainty to go to QLD as a pay off

There is no "slim chance" about it that Victoria host the GF. They will be treated like the plague till Xmas!!

For what it s worth, will be in Perth in my opinion.

Great redemption story (including the baby as well) but that tag line just feels wrong, "since he fell from a bridge".

Former Carlton midfielder Mitch Robinson has told the Herald Sun the decision to sack Brett Ratten in 2012 “ruined the Carlton footy club at the time” and “when (Mick) Malthouse came in I just hated playing.”

Ratten, a former captain and premiership player for the Blues, coached the side from the middle of 2007 until the end of 2012 for 60 wins, 59 losses and a draw before being sacked and replaced by Malthouse.

After Ratten flourished at Hawthorn in an assistant coaching role and became St Kilda’s senior coach in the backend of 2019, many Blues fans have lamented the decision to cut ties with the 49-year-old, a sentiment Robinson shared in the lead up to his 200th game this week.

“I wish I could go back in time and understand how good ‘Ratts’ was,’’ Robinson told the Herald Sun.

“Him being cut by the club ruined the Carlton footy club at the time and you can write that as much as you like. He was so good to us.

“He probably could’ve delegated a little bit more, but his footy brain was one of the smartest I’ve seen from any coach.

“The only thing he struggled with was the relationship side in terms of getting to know you and what makes you tick. He loved footy and always talked about footy.

“He was unfairly sacked. When he left, my love for the club deteriorated and when Malthouse came in I just hated playing.’’

Robinson managed 21 games under Malthouse in 2013 and then just 12 following year before being delisted at season’s end.

“It’s tough to talk about Malthouse because when I talk about him, it’s always negative,’’ Robinson admitted.

“For a boss, for someone who looks after you as a coach, there was no positivity from the get-go.

“One of our first meetings didn’t go well. The fight at the Big Day Out (which Robinson was sanctioned for) just happened in January and I’m pretty sure he broke his finger when he slammed his hand on the table when he was spraying me on the Monday afterwards.

“I don’t think the respect went either way at the time.

“You had to respect him for his runs on the board and what he had done at Collingwood, but I just hated going to the club for two years.

“Then when Eddie (Betts) left, I was done. I was asking to go with Eddie to Adelaide, a two-for-one deal, I just wanted to get out.’’

Robinson said the Crows wrongly thought he was a “full-blown drug addict”, before he found his way onto Brisbane’s list, where he has thrived for his 99-game stint there so far.

Good read, I've always like the way Mitch goes about his business and I thought he was a better player than what he was showing at the Blues.

I think Malthouse is a wanker who thought he was bigger than any club and the game itself, pretty much every time you hear from him nowadays it's some ridiculous 1986 comment.

Would be great if we can get some games without Adelaide and Port at the Oval I reckon.

Get every Adelaide based North and Melbourne fan along.

I haven’t watched a lot of footy this year but did see a bit of last nights game.
Looked like a trial game.
No atmosphere by the look of things.

Port didn’t need to get out of 2nd gear.
Melbourne are dead set shite.

Do North and Melbourne have more than 300 supporters in Adelaide?

We go to Tassie every year as a family & I duck over to Melb a couple of times each year - that obviously isn’t happening in 2020.
This is my chance to see North live with my youngest. Even the bride & eldest who follow West Coast want to come. The in-laws (he follows North too) will be there too. I know some blokes at work who will go as neutrals. I’ve had numerous texts from Adelaide Oval members offering their tickets.
They might get between 4000-5000 despite the shitty time slot.
