A bit like Groundhog day.. in control for long periods during the game... failed to hit the scoreboard.

Entries into the forward line were poor.. commitment from forwards at times also poor.
Kept the Hayes bros under control, but Rowe got off the leash 4 times..he's a clever footballer.. in one on ones edges his opponent under the ball, often legally , but where he hurts most is he runs forward of the contest, and runs onto the hurried kick often to an open goal.
The WWT tactic of dragging Haines back to the goalsquare also worked a treat , negating his attacking style and making him more accountable.
Hunter in his first game was Souths best by a country mile, after him 5-6 were ok but the rest produced a sub par performance.

Cannot beat top sides with half the team not contributing. :(

Thought the Eagles showed a lot of maturity in the last quarter to hold SA off. Seymour and Wehr are very effective down back and their kicks rarely miss a target. Redden will have to be managed very carefully for the rest of the year as West really isn't an option!

Had a gander at this on Saturday arvo on Channel Seven, and was really impressed with Hunter's game in the ruck. He seems like a well balanced and co-ordinated big man with good foot and hand skills, and seems to find the footy (IIRC he got 20-plus possessions?). Quality ruckmen who can provide value in the centre square and around the ground aren't necessarily easy to find, so I hope he hangs around, because the Panthers will be the better for it.

He looked so much better than when he was in the Crows system. BOG easily in his first match. His 20 plus contested processions plus ruckwork was subline.

Agreed. How long was he hanging around the Crows reserves? I think his development probably suffered because he was always playing backup to O'Brien for most of the time. So he'd often spend his time playing in the forward line which is not his strength.
