Rd Nine North Norwood at Prospect 1:34 pm

Postby am Bays » Thu Aug 20, 2020 2:09 pm

Crucial game for Norwood as a loss here and a South win at the Bay could mean the Cotton thread get's pulled* off.

North to be too structured and drilled here, by 19 pts (it never gets old)….
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I think you will find it's Channel 7. Last weeks televised match was asked by channel 7 to start at 1.34 pm. Another minute for adds.

It certainly doesn't. It is 38 years (twice times 19) since Norwood had 19 men on the field in the second semi final against Port for over 5 minutes and you are still bringing it up.
Norwood, of course, won that game by 19 points.

Should be a good game. Id like to see Hender not get cheap stuff so Norwood should pay him some attention. He seems to struggle with the tougher stuff. Norwood look good but have a couple of slow blokes so North should exploit that.

19...

I was at that game oblivious as to what happened at the time
NW 19-6
PA 14-17
A margin of that number 19...
game was played on september 19 ...

NW had 19 players on the field for a duration of about 5 minutes
NW realised the boo boo and Andrew Aish was the player that came off
Andrew didnt go through the interchange gate and I reckon he was not allowed to come back on ?
Neil Balme was interviewed and confirmed what happened
Gentleman Jack Cahill in a postscript said he would have hated to win a game by calling for a count

In that 5 minutes 19 Norwood players vrs 18 Port Adelaide players , PA scored 3-1 , with one player less !
And off course 3-1 converted to points = 19 points ...

In round 1 that season
GL 17-13
NW 14-12
a margin of 19 points ...

I expect Hender will receive close attention from the Norwood defence, his x-factor potential is too great to leave unchecked. His form in the last couple of weeks has been pretty ordinary, so the pressure will be on to perform.

The forecast wet weather may bring the sides closer together, and possibly may advantage Norwood, making for a close but probably scrappy contest. Norwood have plenty to play for, and North will want a significant improvement on last Friday night's effort against the Bloods if they are to get over the line.

LOL, Casey accidentally called Darren Jarman when Ben Jarman got it and Ben then took a bounce and kicked a goal from the 50m line on the boundary like Darren woukd have!

How come Cotton hasn't been sacked yet?

He should've been escorted from the ground at half-time.
