Was thinking about David Teague last night and how he's handled his job at Carlton, was surprised to look up the stats, but also surprised at how quickly Carlton have moved away from the SOS inspired GWS-left overs rebuild.

Teague took over in round 12 of 2019, in the remaining 11 games they went :

15 beat Brisbane
-3 lost to the Bulldogs
4 beat Fremantle
-5 lost to Melbourne
7 beat Sydney
24 beat Gold Coast
27 beat Adelaide
-24 lost to West Coast
-28 lost to Richmond
10 beat St Kilda
-68 lost to Geelong

Pretty good considering the position Bolton got them into, the only heavy losses to the sides who finished 1st, 3rd and 5th.

In 2020 :

-24 lost to Richmond
-1 lost to Melbourne
2 beat Geelong
1 beat Essendon

So he's won 8 (4 under 7 points) and lost 7 (3 under a goal).

Clearly he's got them in a better spot than Bolton did.

Have the Blues turned the corner?

Nope, it's just ten teams are now at their level.

Since this post they've gone :

Lost St Kilda 18 points
Beat Bulldogs 52 points
Lost Port 3 points
Beat North 7 points
Lost Hawthorn 31 points
Lost WCE 22 points
Beat Fremantle 4 points
Beat Gold Coast 33 points

They now sit 10th, 6-6 with Collingwood, GWS, Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane to play.

Can they play finals?

I reckon that fade out against Hawthorn will haunt them and they'll finish 9th.

We might win all 4. We should win 3. We more than likely will win 2. We also could lose 3. That's our lot in life (being a Carlton supporter).

Bit like the Burgoyne decision by Hawthorn, they don't want to be seen to "shoot Bambi" so to speak so give them both another year, even though everyone that understands football realises they are both shot.

Wow, he looks the most cooked out of all 3 of those. I’d keep Simpson for another year and flick the other two

I've seen them a bit lately and he can't keep his feet, his ability to turn players inside out has passed him by.
