Coburg recruit Sam Lowson is among five additions to the Eagles’ 25-man squad, with Mitchell Mead – returned from the Magpies – Angus Poole and Jake Westbrook all named on the extended interchange bench.

Norwood need to not underestimate the opposition
To be 3 goals down early in the game was unacceptable

Not a surprise - warning signs for the Eagles for the past 4 weeks (West, Centrals, South kicked badly and Sturt). This time Baulderstone dominated and Norwood's onballers took full advantage. And with Luke Surman superimpressive in the Seconds to come in to Norwood's team, they have a team that will take some beating. A reality check for the Eagles who, with the next 2 weeks defining our season, could be back in the pack. Missing Goldsworthy's drive off the wing and of course, Jack Hayes.

It seemed business as usual at the start for the Eagles. Norwood quickly got on top in defence with numbers back and collecting the Eagles long ball. Then some clear forward movements by the Eagles were thwarted by Shenton marking in front of the lumbering West. A couple of poor centring passes by Nick Hayes and Tsitas on a more crowded Norwood Oval were intercepted resulting in opposition goals. From there, Norwood dominated and the Eagles were very poor.

Sinor battled hard for the Eagles, but the rest of the mids and forward line were diabolical. There seemed to be a number of Eagles cramping up. Didn’t seem primed for this game. I presume there was a couple of injuries as well, Toumpas was missing most of the night.

It’s clear if Redden is playing, West can’t. I doubt they’ll do that again. Jack Hayes the Eagles most important player.

Norwood very much back in the race now. A spirited performance. The Eagles with a chance to prove themselves and play for top spot against North next week.

With going backwards by 105 points in 7 weeks, North thrashing Norwood last week and now getting easily done by Norwood I fear the downward trend has started. Now injuries are appearing to players we can ill afford to miss. Will make the finals but what usually happens. I doubt that we will get within a bulls roar on fathers day

I felt we were going to have a loss sooner or later....and this was it. Comprehensively outclassed by Norwood from the second quarter onward. They thoroughly deserved the win.

I said it a few weeks back - Norwood have perhaps the most talented list in the competition on paper. Why they haven't been able to play consistent football like they did on Friday night is anyone's guess.

Sheedy made a terrible decision to try and play Redden and West in the same team. We discussed it last week. West cannot be in the team if he isn't being used as the primary ruckman. He is a liability in other positions and this decision basically meant we were one rotation down from the beginning of the match. Did Toumpas and Hall get injured? I think Toumpas as lest was injured meaning we were lost further ability to rotate players.

Not really any positives to speak of. I don't think a single player won their position. However the good thing is that we have significant depth at the club and players who didn't perform tonight as well as those who have been quiet across out last few wins will be nervous this week at selection. Into this category I'd put Poole, West, Comittogianni and Carcuro.

We have been badly missing Goldsworthy in the past few weeks. Hopefully he is not too far away. Lonergan, J Hayes and Lowson are the others who you'd hope wouldn't be too far away.

Also why were so many of the eagles players struggling to kick 45m when having a shot for goal??? There were at least 4-5 times where this occurred and they couldn't make the distance.
