My first memory of horse racing/betting was when the old man chucked 50 clams on Kiwi to win the 83 Melbourne Cup, I was 9.
I still remember his TAB account number from when he'd ring his bets through then listen to them on the radio.
"Account number 6650420"
"Good evening Chris, how it's going tonight?"
I remember a dog that used to run at Gawler and Angle Park called Wild Country that seemed to never lose.
Wild Country was a speed machine over the very short distances
I reckon it won over 10+ races in a row at one stage
