West Coast took the foot off the pedal there. The game is played on their terms and they can decide how much they win by

What's the deal with this around the body kicking for goal? Surely the drop punt is the most accurate and easiest kick to negotiate for any level of footballer, especially one that has done more than 10 million of them in their life, it cost Essendon the win IMO, three of them in the first quarter, I still would've kicked them all.

Said to mrs Locky last night, if i was still coaching anyone that did this kick around the corner rubbish when the drop punt is the better option would be put on the pine, is bloody ridiculous, is all about showing off IMO

As much as I agree with you I think it's a coaching and sport science thing, they honestly believe that you open the goals up to a greater angle by kicking it around the corner.

The part they don't get is the slightest miscue in angle, ball drop or execution point and then the kick is pretty much no hope, you can still wobble through a poorly executed drop punt though..................baffling, especially considering that 95% of the kicks during any given match would be drop punts.
