Weather at Unley fine. Has been a little showery but blue sky coming.

A perfect day for football. Fingers crossed.

South very lucky not to have lost by 10. Got rubbed in the dirt!

Outworked around the stoppages and outrun all day. Haines our best with a Heaslip next best. Broadbent and Cross worked into late.

Think JucKers, McGree, Ellsworthy, Wilkinson, McCreery and Milsom all soundly beaten and will be under notice to keep their spot.

South could not have chosen a worst day to have its flattest performance for the season win and be within 2 points of either north/Eagles depending on the result tomorrow.

It's South Adelaide. Seen this too many times after following them for 46 years.

We are putrid today. As DOC has highlighted with players named, they will definitely be on notice I would think.

A dog of a day at Unley and one I would want to forget.

Yep completely out worked and out played . A weak insipid performance after so many weeks showing some great promise; second to the ball flogged at the clearances , not one player could say he won his position. It will be interesting to see next weeks lineup.

With the inexperienced side we put on the park today, a 10 goal loss wouldn’t have surprised me, so to walk away with a 5 goal win was a huge bonus! Good even contribution but Batts and Colquhoun were standouts. Wundke was his usual ultra reliable self and I though Evans used his smarts to good effect. Did the Panthers rock up to Unley expecting to go through the motions and have an inevitable win?

That was hard to watch. Sturt were dominant all around the ground and played with great intent from start to finish. They didn’t let up all game and completely shut down the Panthers. I think it’s worth mentioning that South also have a lot of young players which people seem to forget because they’ve been playing well up to this week. Not an excuse, just a reminder. Anyway, learn from it and move on South. Respond on Friday night.

As others have already mentioned it was a very lacklustre showing from South. Overall kicked a goal at the 2 min mark of the second term, and from that point on it was 8.12 to 3.3, complete domination from Sturt who deserved to win by more.

The club only named two in their best players- Hunter and Broadbent.
SAFC- 60 years...
StKFC- 58 years..

Opens the door for a repeat of the final round outcome from last year.

Not that I think that will happen as whilst positions may change I dont think the final four teams will change as South with their percentage are effectively 2 games ahead of Sturt and Norwood with three games to go.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I'm continually amazed at the durability of Joel Cross. Once again against the tide he tried to drag South over the line. Haines another who racked up early possessions but it was a young Sturt side that played well for 4 quarters. Goal kicking though was very poor on a fine day.
For Sturt perhaps it was a glimpse of the future with few Premiership players left in the side. Their best win for a long time against a quality opposition who I still rate highly.
