Carlton v Adelaide, Metricon Stadium, 1.05pm AEST
Bryce Gibbs’ AFL career is set to come to an end after one final appearance for the Adelaide Crows.
The 31-year-old has made just two appearances this year, his third season with the Crows after a controversial move from Carlton on a four-year deal.
The AFL website reports he has come to an agreement with Adelaide on a payout for the final year of his contract.
As part of the deal, Gibbs will farewell the AFL against the Blues this weekend.
The decision comes on the same day his former teammate Matthew Kreuzer is set to announce his own retirement.
Carlton selected Gibbs and Kreuzer with successive No.1 picks in the 2006 and 2007 AFL drafts.

Seems so, well handled by all parties if that is the case.

Payout, no problems, the farewell game when you haven't been in the side seems an odd one for mine.
If you've been playing, no issues and I know Adelaide have nothing to lose or gain, but bringing someone in for a farewell game? Hmm.

So you wouldn't bring Brad Ebert or Justin Westhoff in for a farewell game if you were bottom of the table and nothing riding on the result of the game?

I might be going against the grain here but I was always a bit of a Gibbs fan so it's been sad watching it all unfold since coming back to SA.
He had one season between 2007 and 2018 where he played less than 20 games, an overall average of 23+ disposals, finished 9th in the Brownlow medal cont in 2009, 21st in 2011, 25th in 2016 & 17 along with a John Nicholls medal in 2014, well done Bryce.
Kreuzer could've been anything, would've been great to see him be able to play more as a forward, playing in the ruck cost his body endurance, a very honest footballer and great to watch at full fitness.
