Double whammy for me next week as even if it was Port I'd be barracking for them to make the GF something different.

Well if north are good enough they should be playing in two weeks .
And if they do then its how all teams finished end of minor round.

That's got nothing to do with my point. :?

I'm not saying who deserves it more as the teams that deserve it more always get there, I'm just saying from a SANFL fan's point of view it'd be great for the competition if we got more than one team in the Grand Final who made noise, had colour and could get numbers to the game.

So many people at the game were saying today how great it would be to have Norwood, Port, Sturt, North and Glenelg in the top 5 to get the crowds like we did in the 90s.
No issues that they're not deserving of getting there but the issue is that it would be fantastic for the SANFL to go forward in crowd numbers instead of backwards not to mention general interest in the league.

I'm not belittling your club or their supporters, I'm belittling the people who don't support your club.
I thought I made it quite clear its not the Eagles fault they can't bring the same colour and crowd numbers to games that other club's can bring.
Having seen some of CDs work first hand I honestly don't think the club can do any more than its doing now.

Its just a simple fact of life they don't have the numbers or voice other club's have hence not bringing a lot of atmosphere to games.
Full marks for the few that do get out and try their hardest, I caught up with LEH again today and I know he always tries his hardest to make noise! :D
The SANFL will continue to go backwards if the Eagles keep making the big games but its not the Eagles fault, full marks to them on getting there every year!

PS My Step Dad is an Eagles man, mind you he hasn't been to a game since they merged but still watches them on TV not afraid to text me during the 3rd quarter of a game when they're winning like last week!

Well I'm a bit sick of WWTFC numbers at a game being purported as doing harm to the SANFL's image.

A group of drunk 50 year old plus supporters yelling abusive at a female does more harm to the SANFL's image

Couldn't agree more.

I was shattered with the result, shattered. Glenelg had it in their forward 50 with only 45 seconds remaining, if only someone took a mark.

And yet the Eagles are off to another Prelim. Give me a break.

I must be sadistic, because I derive a great deal of pleasure from going for a club which "shatters" so many opposition fans!

I recall during the Round 12 match last year I got that exact same feeling. ;)

I think this is the same feeling 1980TM was describing.

Always humble in victory spelly; your sentiments are appreciated.

Disagree with your comment that the Bays were the best side. I think it was fairly even. The Bays played with intensity and indeed became dominant in the scrimmages, but the Eagles' skills were simply cooler under pressure. Congrats to you and yours.

I ain't disappointed; this year I've had my membership money returned to me tenfold in value. Beats the hell out of coming bottom, and for a change we have some real hope for next year.

Cheers mate.

Sellar could be the big key for Glenelg next year. With another AFL pre-season behind him and assuming he’s free from OP, he’ll have a great year in 2008 and will be a great target for the Bays up forward.

Not quite, we throw that out the window last weekend when we came up against a side that wasn't prepared to fight like you blokes were today...

Sturt was unprepared to fight as well as the Eagles? I can't contradict you directly as I saw neither game, but that is an interesting comparison given the reviews that were written last week about both sides; Sturt and Glenelg. Are you sure that it was a lack of fight that lost it last week for the Blues? Or had that final shot at goal actually gone through would that have amounted to an equal amount of endeavour, as displayed by the Eagles today, in your book?
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

Spot on there! I wasn't so much devastated that the Bays lost but that Torrens won. Booo!

I thought we won the centre clearance and stoppages againt Sturt fairly well especially from halfway through the second quarter. We won control and stayed in control hence why I was confident from halfway through the 2nd qtr against Sturt that we would win (provided we maintanied that intensity)

Against the eagles we couldn't maintain that intensity or dominance. We got on top in the 2nd qtr and then the Eagles got back on top in the thrird then we cam back slightly before 3/4 time. We dominated the first half of the last qtr but the Eagles started to gain control again...

I'm not saying Sturt were weak in that area but the Eagles were definately better than us and Sturt in that dept hence why they got the chocolates. They're fnals experience shone thorugh.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

My pleasure, because how can you not be humble? :) Glenelg were fantastic in coming back from last in Round 9, and are to be commended for it. I would have been disappointed in a straight sets exit if we lost, but would have been happy for you guys, for sure.
