Yeah, you need 10-12 older heads to help the kids through, it will be interesting to see the individual assessment grades.

Impossible to tell at the moment. COVID training restrictions, massive player turn over, coaching panel overhaul, it's 3 years before he can be truly assessed as a coach.

It helps him immensely for job security, you'd think by then these kids are starting to blossom, all bullshit aside I liked the look of them the last few rounds, they played with some ticker and gave it a red hot go, there's a lot on the upside for a club that we often sink the boots in for poor recruiting.

We all thought that too about North Melbourne after Shaw took over and they have done little since. Things can improve quickly when there is no pressure and crack easily when the pressure is on

I think Shaw was left with someone else's mess, Nicks has more of a blank canvas to work with.

Not yet.

Lynch, Walker, Sloane, Gibbs and Mackay are all 30 or over so none of them are playing in 3 years time. By then Brown, Seedsman, Smith, Hartigan and Talia are all over 30. Gallucci, Knight, Atkins, Wilson and B Crouch are either delisted or gone.

That's without finding out if Butts, Davis, Frampton, Strachan, Jones, McHenry, Poholke and Murphy are up to it.

I'd say McAdam, Stengle, Hamill, McPherson, Sholl, Milera, Doedee, O'Brien, Schoenberg and Kelly are all locked in, that's only 10 or so who will most likely be in the side in 3 years, lots of work to do mate.

I wasn’t having a crack at North either Spargo, just an observation of what happens when a team has no real pressure on them

Max Burford
@mkfburford
Scott Burns will be Matthew Nicks’ righthand man as senior assistant.
Huge get for Adelaide.
Very highly rated coach comes to the Crows after stints with Hawthorn, West Coast and Collingwood

Riley Knight, Patrick Wilson and Ayce Taylor delisted. No surprises there, if they weren't getting a game this year was never gonna happen.

I think you will find Scott Burns was at all these clubs in very, very unsuccessful eras, And given these 3 have been powerhouses at certain times over the last decade it doesnt read well for his impact.

Scott Burns
West Coast
2008-15
2009-11
2010-16, 16 team league
2011-4 17 teams
2012- 5 18 teams
2013-13
Collingwood
2014-11
2015 -12
2016-12
2017-13
Hawthorn
2018-4
2019-9
2020-15

The best thing about his record is West Coast played in a GF the 2nd year after he left and Collingwood the 1st year after.
Hawks should be back 2021 or 2022. :D
