The whole basis of the AA team is subjective and thats why the AFL love it, keeps people talking about it during the bye.

Goldy is the 5th best clearance player in the AFL this year, as a ruckman!

We should form a team of players that were left out.

Do a top 176 and make 4 teams and write a disclaimer (this is in no particular order).

Or, name every player on every list so no one is left out.

You're missing my point
they name a 40 man squad anyway. Make it a 44 squad and officially name the 1st and 2nd team.
No different really just recognition for all in the squad.

I totally get what you mean and wasn't taking the piss, I was agreeing with the butt-hurt bit, they have around 800 players to squeeze into 40, there are always some hard luck stories and some players that get a gig that shouldn't, the actual final team is generally on the money though.

Most years you would find 1 or 2 you don't agree with or could make a case for adding in, it's rarely far from the mark.

I actually thought Lloyd would get a mention through sheer weight of numbers, I didn't see many Sydney games though.

i though he was a shoe in for the 40 man squad. Bit stiff imho

not that i think he's deserving of being in the squad but i thought Parker's year has been really good too

Do they ddo effective clearance stats? Does a blind kick that lands on the chest of the opposition still count? Id imagine Goldy and most ruckman have above average of these types of clearances. Also not sure that a ruckman that follows up his own tap and gets the clearance is doing his team any great favours.
Im not just talking about Goldstein here, they all do it

I'm glad Calab Daniel got a gig on the bench, his kicking is elite.
