Nathan might be well liked but you still need to be able to coach .I assume from what you are saying is that Jeff Andrews wasnt liked .

Disappointing news for Centrals fans, who had good cause for optimism in the latter part of the season, plus the reserves are top as well.

Disappointing for Andrews. You can't be expected to do much in one season. Hopefully they haven't installed a revolving door to the coaches office at Elizabeth.

Also disappointing that there's nothing official from the club - club members and supporters, as well as the SANFL community to a lesser extent, deserve to know the facts when a significant decision like this is made.

Just finished chatting to an ex player and whilst he hasn’t heard the exact reasons he understands that Andrews wasn’t overly impressed with his assistant support stuff and had made it clear he was looking to bring in his own.

Obviously some noses have been put out of joint. I’m lead to believe Andrews was under the belief he was going to be able to implement full change at the club and not be forced to utilise Laird era staff

My normal stance on this is that the coach should have full and final say on his assistants

Didn't get on with Kris Grant.

I'm only guessing but I reckon once Thommo lost his Crows job he would have had his eye on the Centrals gig.

I'm no where near close enough to have any real knowledge other than the odd bobs I hear but all this smells a bit funny imo.

If I was wearing a tin foil hat once Thommo became available Andrews was going to find it very hard to keep his job.

If it is correct about the assistant coaches getting their noses out of joint then that is a disgrace should put their egos on hold instead of it being a boys club.We need to get away from the Laird era that is done now we were showing real improvement dont know if that will happen now unless things change,

If this happens the SANFL will be spewing.

What about the Dog's "cry poor" to the public, was this just a ruse to get funds to pay Andrews out!

Saw Godden at Elizabeth Oval last Sat., thought he was supporting his ex players.... maybe not.

You can have Jarrad Cotton back
In fact, a lot of Norwood members will become members to sweeten the deal

I think it was Jade Sheedy who restructured all the Assistant staff when he was appointed at the Eagles? If so, results suggest it was a fair call.
It would be tough for anyone to come into a Club with a mandate to implement a new game plan and pump in new ideas, but inherit a playing list and staff not of his making (apart from ex-Port player Damien Ryan as ruck coach). Plus no pre-season to get the playing group buying into changes.
I am sure Jeff would have recruited players to fit his game style over the summer, and also had a look at the roles of those around him. Hopefully, the Club has based their decision on more than just that.

I would also think that the Club surely has a definite lock-in replacement, before making this decision.
With the last two 'outsider" coaches parting ways before their time, the lure for someone outside of the Club to come on board would not be great.
