Honestly, looking at his year by year stats it's just such a disappointment, round 14 in 2014, 27 disposals, 11 marks and 6 goals against Geelong, there were many more games where he tore it a new one, two lots of 3 Brownlow votes in 2012, both in losing sides.

One of the biggest waste of talents in recent years. I honestly thought he could win a Brownlow the way he played those first couple of years

Ex-Demon Harley Bennell has reportedly been taken to hospital on the Gold Coast following his AFL retirement.

According to a report in the Courier Mail, Police were called to an apartment in Broadbeach at about 8pm on Monday, with Bennell found heavily intoxicated.

He was then taken to hospital just hours after he had officially called time on his AFL career.

He was probably pissed when he made his announcement.

In all seriousness though, I'm actually tipping that he was told to retire by the MFC considering the AFL ordered him to leave Queensland 8 days ago but he is still there, probably partying.

He's already cost the MFC $50K to which I'm sure he won't batter an eyelid over, he's just kissed goodbye his 2nd lifeline over piss, good luck being able to afford that lifestyle on a commoners wage.

Sad state of affairs now, reports emerging he's been on benders for days on the Gold Coast and Melbourne and the AFL are trying to assist him to leave the Gold Coast but it appears he has nowhere to actually go.

It seemed something was up when he got done for the $50K fine. It was hardly mentioned in the same depth compared to the Stack & CCJ breach.

Obviously the media were informed there was a lot more at play.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

Has the makings of another Ben Cousins situation post football, though I fear it will have a much worse ending..
