Being near the Flinders Ranges you would expect a rousing version of 'Over the Hills and Far Away' (and the next song on that album, by the way. :-B)

It was The Venue back then, wasn't it?

Nah, the Venue was on the other side of Morphett St (same side of Hindley St) near the Crazy Horse. I spent many a Saturday night there, was a regular stop of bus tours too.

When all this talk started I was going to mention "bus tours", I remember the first couple of stops of them, used to start at the Tunnel , stop at Ambassadors, the rest is history, gee they were lethal.

That's on the next album, after 'Stairway to Heaven' (and starts side 2, for those playing on vinyl at home). Great song, with all the right ingredients - hippies in park, cops, some drugs, having tea, and something about books rusting on a shelf.

Those were the days ... Think they stopped at "My Place" for a while, but can't remember if that was a different joint to the Tunnel or just a previous name?

Yep, I'm pretty sure every one I went on stopped at the Berkley, smashing down a few glasses of beer on the bus in between stops and whatever else you managed to smuggle on had disaster written all over it.

I recall one of them where the whole top floor of the bus had a punch up with the whole bottom floor while the bus was doing it's rounds, there was one waiter per level, they had no chance.

It's still the Enigma now and was when I went to see some bands there in the very early 2000s.
Can be a very weird place sometimes, one night I was there to see a band there was a goth show in another part of the pub.

Anyway back to the topic at hand publicans are pissed off this standing and drinking rule only applies to outside. Bit of a waste of time and makes no difference to most pubs.

My memories were that the bus was usually full of approx 19 year old blokes in skin tight jeans, reeking of cheap cologne with flowing Mullets and you did well if the driver even got the thing moving before at least one person started up the "We want Some Pussy" song
