That was a letter from Ben Buckley today. The rumour was that Shaw has had a mental breakdown and is currently in a mental health facility

All the best Rhyce.

The media knew about it yet still spread rumours, scum.

Good news is the club is about to post its 8th profit in a row, even in a COVID year, with no Tassie income and haven't had to borrow funds from the AFL.

Sad to hear and i hope all pans out well.
As a Kanga supporter i cant help but wonder if some of the decisions been made on the departure of some players has been clouded by the illness.

Wayne Carey has launched a stunning attack on his own football club, describing the Kangaroos as a “shambles” after Rhyce Shaw’s departure on Friday.

North Melbourne announced in a statement Shaw had walked away from the club and taken an indefinite leave of absence to deal with a personal matter.

It has been widely reported North Melbourne has begun looking for a replacement coach for the 2021 season.

Carey on Saturday turned a blowtorch on North Melbourne officials for the way the situation has played out following rumours the club had been chasing Paul Roos for some time.

According to reports, Roos is only going to work with North Melbourne in a part-time capacity and will help the club appoint Shaw’s replacement.

Carey said the club’s disastrous season and Shaw’s departure paints an ugly picture for the club’s direction

The Roos have also moved on several senior players and are reportedly set to trade star forward Ben Brown this trade period.

Carey said the club has failed to communicate with fans and members this season, allowing suggestions that the club is in a mess to spread.

“The place is an absolute shambles, and we’re hearing from no one,” Carey told Triple M in a live radio segment.

“Can’t you address other things going on at the footy club? You don’t have to delve into what’s going on there, you can address the other things that are going on.

“Let’s be honest, there is plenty going on there.

“I tell you why it’s important you do that (communicate with supporters) — what has happened now, all the innuendo and rumour going on around what’s happened ... we hear all sorts of things and guess what we do? We start to believe what we hear because we’re not told anything by them.

“All of a sudden we believe everything we’re told, and if you believe what we’re told, this place has got cancer running right through the footy club. It is really, really concerning.”

He also passed on his best wishes to Shaw and his family before continuing to tear his former club apart.

“Clearly our thoughts go out to Rhyce and his family and you hope he gets well and footy is secondary to what he’s going through,” he said.

“What’s disappointing for me, being just an ex-North Melbourne player, is that who have we heard from? We had a statement from Ben Buckley yesterday that came out to tell us a little bit in and around what’s going on with the senior coach Rhyce Shaw, but who else have we heard from?

“This is the concerning thing for me … I really respect (CEO) Ben Amarfio, he’s new in the job, obviously Brady Rawlings, new in the job, Scott Clayton — all of these people that we’re speaking about, I mean (Glenn) Archer’s a director that’s had a lot to do with putting Rhyce in the job and other key decisions.

“We haven’t heard from anyone. When things are going bad like they are for North, and I think ‘bad’ is a kind word to use, it’s catastrophic, why haven’t we heard from any of these key people?”

Not sure what he wants to hear about?

Buckley issued a long and detailed letter on Saturday regarding the clubs position which in a financial sense is terrific.
