What's the deal?

@JK

Initial thoughts were to use a random number generator to allocate the first 10 races to individual punters. If we got 20 participants then it would be 2 punters per race. If we end up with more than 10 but less than 20, then I’d still allocate the first 10 races then those remaining could choose which race they want to bet in, but probably best to avoid triple ups.

For the Cup Tri, if everyone sends me their selection via PM by Monday night at the latest.

How does that sound by everyone? it’s a cruisy club, happy to alter based on feedback :-BD

Whatever you want mate and I don't care what race I get, so if anyone has a race that they had in mind I got it, I don't mind swapping with you.

Yeah agree JK, try and keep it as simple as possible is the best way I reckon.

Do we make it $50 on the nose?

Either that or $25/$25, whatever you prefer really bud given you’ll be chucking.

Other option is we cap the group at 14, 10 punters all get a race each and the remaining 4 select a Quaddie leg each?

Thoughts lads?

Na to quaddie. If we bomb out first leg those other three basically not getting an opportunity to get a winner. What was first suggested is the go I reckon. Everyone has a 50 buck bet.

Agree - maybe if we make a profit we can have a dig at the quaddie on Oaks or Stakes day

So $50 on the nose or do we allow $25 ew ?

Leave that up to the person who's betting to decide I reckon. I'll be on the nose but someone might want something at juicy odds each way.

Might also depend on any promos with whichever bookie we use. Pretty sure sports bet is only money back (in BB) to $25?

They must be tight arses cup day because they normally do every major race day up to 50 bonus each race in Melbourne.

To me this seems the most appealing option, Neds have some useful bet back kinda tools (well they used to lol but before they cut me off)

Thanks for the offer btw Johno, and more than welcome to join in if keen mate

how bout 10 people bet on one race each and the rest goes into a trifecta or pick 4 for the cup. The ones that miss out on an in dividual bet get the final say on the tri or pick 4. The individuals still pick their one horse for the tri. so 14 people would see $340 spent on tri/pick4. {10x10 plus 4x60}.
Ideally if we got to 20 people we could have 2 win bets in each race as suggested before

With no disrespect to anyone as I see everyone having merit in their suggestions and to be honest, it's going to be a different format to how I envisaged but I'm fine with that.

I suggest that the thread be locked now that everyone has chucked their 2 bob in and we'll let JK and Dutchy nut it out and re-open the thread once they have decided on how we roll?

I think we are all making it far more difficult on them than it needs to be, myself included.

To avoid all confusion I reckon we box 14 in the Cup first 4 for $806 and then we have $1 each to put a place on the one we backed in the Cup.

Easy.
