How on earth does a club hit MORE runs than the opposition and then lose the game because an umpire decides to apply "penalty runs".
What a disgrace... fancy punishing a whole side over what? An umpire forgetting its not about them?!?
Is it the umpires fault for following the Laws of the game or is it the players fault for acting and/or making comment in breach of the Laws? The penalty runs are given at the time of the offence so unless it was the last wicket the batting team knows where they stand.
Assuming you where not there like me its all hear say what the player did or said. Umpires like all people have different tolerance levels so some will be quicker to act than others.
Your comment 'PDCA is umpired by a pack of yahoos who think the game is about them' - how many umpires have you had this season and how many of them have actually umpired that way? It is a huge general statement. I would always rather have a neutral umpire than the opposition umpire especially if they bat second.

I was there, the umpire is a cheat who was probably paid off by the opposition.

The pines game wouldn’t had changed if Secca’s was there. They would have enforced the follow on.Lightning McQueen wrote:Gee the Pines vs Virginia game could've been very different if Secca's was available for day 2.
A 146 run 3rd wicket partnership ensured a 40 run win to the Gardens over NEK.
Angle Vale were admirable in defeat as some late order slow batting cost them in the end, I'm not sure why Justin didn't bat but could of well been the difference, he wouldn't of clogged up 50 balls and an hour for 11 runs.

Let's move on, I've moved on.. I have no issues with Don or the umpiring fraternity and ATCO are a good bunch of lads, just really ordinary sledging game.
North Pines travelling well in Grade 1, get around 'em.
NEK with a couple of players in the magoo's who might help in the 1s is interesting.

Yeah not just top spot, could potentially cost us in the long run - looks a very even competition this season, not much between all sides. Even Craigmore although have started slow, have capable cricketers it wont be long until they're on the board.
I see Woody bowled last week after claims he wasn't bowling this year, reckon that gives Units a huge boost, but still think OTH the side to beat.

Geez, you'd hope PDCA don't have a social media policy!
