I found soft shelled crabs left in a freezer that was accidentally turned off our shed during summer for about a month my sense of smell's most horrific encounter.

Unless you've been digging and found duck eggs under the surface you haven't actually been exposed to a bad smell.

As a kid we had a veritable zoo in our back yard, when Mum and Dad split the animals were all moved on, ducks, chooks, pheasants, we'd even had a goat, an owl in the shed, two sheep, all on a 1/4 acre block in Brooklyn Park.

About 18 months after all the wildlife was gone I was moving some shit around on the back part of the yard, needed to move some soil and unearthed some duck eggs. Oh boy.

I cleaned my deep freezer about a dozen times using all sorts of disinfectants etc. but just remembering the smell made it linger so I sold it on gumtree.

When the buyers came to pick it up I just said "you guys seem nice, just give me $20"
