Starc 85*
Starc absolutely spat it when Nevill declared. Stood in the middle looking back at him as if to say are you serious, then when he left the field he threw his bat then threw one of his gloves
I can understand Starc, never made a first grade century, Nevill should have said will give you couple of overs to get there (assume by his reaction that did not happen) and let him hit out, only needed a couple of big hits.

I think you're referring to Brad Hodge and the captain was Ricky Ponting, Australia v South Africa at the WACA in 2005. Hodge scored 203* in Australia's second innings, they scored 8/528 declared setting SA 491 to win and they batted 126 overs to draw the test making 5/287.Lightning McQueen wrote:Eagles2014 wrote:locky801 wrote:NSW piling on the runs

Yeah, was a bit wrong, Starc had every right to be pissed.
Question time: Who was the captain and who was the batsman when the skipper waited for the batsman to reach 200 before declaring, subsequently costing the team the win?
It was at the WACA for memory, I could be wrong though, I was once.

That be it, it may have been Hodge's final test appearance too, I thought it was Punter and initially thought it was Marto.
Cheers TDK, you're the star pupil for the day.

Met Heals once, I though he was a nice bloke actually.
Harsh calls on a few blokes there - in particular the bowlers.
