And the defenders support the team who they left.

There's something in that for all of us.

A previous post asked: Who is Matt Knight? Well, he is the White Knight's slightly tarnished younger brother

I've been told there is an opportunity to buy into a cheap Pizza business out at Woodville.

I have to back in Sheedy’s judgement but it certainly has been a strange recruiting spree that we have been on recently.

Last year in the off-season it was very much about backing the juniors and promoting from within. The focus was very much getting players in our team with speed and excellent disposal. We didn’t really target any recruits with high profiles but rather went for a few to address positions of ned – e.g. Mansell as a small quick defender.

For the upcoming season we seem to be stacking our team with key forwards or medium tall forwards. I wonder if this means Sheedy will apply a different game style?

All these new recruits sound very good acquisitions on paper but I would have thought only 1-2 of them would have been sufficient given the only forward loss we have at the moment is Nick Hayes. Rowe may get drafted but he is a small forward.

I was hoping we might still get Sutcliffe but with this recruiting spree it would be hard to see how we will land him.

I am sure you will find Sutcliffe remains at power reserves and Knight will land at north.

If I recall last year Eagles recruited some tall players who didn’t end up coming due to the pandemic

I am not sure why Port would want to keep Sutcliffe. Aside from members of their current AFL squad who run around in the magpies they normally grab top-up players who they want to keep an eye on in the view of getting drafted by the Power. This is why they got Sutcliffe last year. He clearly won't get redrafted so not sure why they'd want him to clog their list?

Not saying he'd come back to the eagles but why wouldn't another club grab him?

I was under the impression that because they had Goldsack as their marquee they couldn’t fit Sutcliffe in

Reports I’ve seen Chris Davies is saying they want the magpies to win the flag and the SANFL is putting to many restrictions on them and may go to another league if the restrictions aren’t changed . Surely Port can’t go to that extended VFL on the east coast cost them to much money

I understood Sutcliffe was already signed by the Power for their marquee spot next year.
