Border closures imminent I’d think

Interesting that quarantining is 'voluntary' for the elites of Sydney's wealthiest suburbs.

I think this is going to blow up for Corrupt Gladys. We should be taking the WA stance ASAP and close the border to NSW.

Wait for JK to get back first though.

Yes please, Urgh had to be last night I finally tied one on huh, driving gonna be fun lol

Woman, in her 50s, arrived on VA 925 on Dec 16 into Brisbane.
Went to lunch at Glen Hotel.
Then hotel on Sunshine Coast.
Then got tested in Brisbane before flying home to Sydney.
Positive result last night.
Tracing underway.
PAFC. Forever.

LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!

So this shit just got more real

Less than an hour ago I got told that one of my umpiring colleagues from tonight has been in close contact with someone from the Northern Sydney hotspot.

This person travelled to Darwin before the hot spot was declared but after the date 11/12 where people from that area need to self isolate.

So now to be on the safe side I’m isolating from my family and waiting to find out if that traveller a) has been to one of the identified sources centres (Avalon RSL/Beach) we don’t think they have. B) is COVID 19 positive (unlikely)

But we can’t be sure so now I’m in self imposed isolation, we are practising good hand hygiene and I am house bound.

99.99% sure nothing will come of this but want to do the responsible thing.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Mindboggling that Sydney hasn't been put into lockdown yet

Contact tracing starts to get very difficult after 30-40 new daily cases.

I think they will wait and see what the next day or two brings. Only 13 new cases today and by closing off the Northern beaches area it hopefully buys contact tracers some time

NSW Health have released a list of other venues and transport routes that include many outside of the northern beaches, along with Forster (halfway between Newcastle and Port Macquarie).

It will be interesting to see what the NSW government and other states do in the next 24-48 hours.

Sydney to Hobart yacht race has also been cancelled.

No whats mind boggling is that people still go into a frenzy over cases. Cases that the WHO now admit could be anything not just covid.
How are those death numbers looking around the world in comparison to non-pandemic years?

They would probably go into a similar one to the SA one. Shut everything for 4 days and with a bit of luck everything open again in a day and a half

"We know that the pandemic is selectively taking lives. It also seems to be causing ancillary deaths that are not directly caused by COVID-19, but are a consequence of the fact that we have COVID-19 in our society, in our health care system, in our jobs, in our lives. We're trying to capture those effects as data," Jacobson said.

It will be interesting to see if this is confirmed by anyone in the press gallery, but apparently Hazzard has been granting quarantine exemptions to wealthy arrivals.
